Compensation:

$172-220K per year (Negotiable)

About Us:

Join a well-known and highly respected nonprofit community health agency in San Jose as Director of Behavioral Health in their renowned Behavioral Health Program. The Behavioral Health Director provides strategic leadership and oversight of the specialty behavioral health services for community members across the age spectrum, including state welfare recipients, refugees & asylum seekers. This position is responsible for program design, implementation, and evaluation of high-quality service delivery in office, community, and school sites.

Responsibilities also encompass supervising staff, training behavioral health workforce and strategic business development. The Behavioral Health Director is a key contributor on the Executive Leadership Team and reports directly to the CEO.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and Delivery of Services:
  • Provide strategic leadership and management to ensure that Behavioral Health services align with and support the angency's goals.

Staff Management:

  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of program staff.
  • Develop and implement staff training and professional development plans.
  • Develop support mechanisms for and ensure productivity of program staff.
  • Oversee the internship and training program for doctoral, master’s, bachelor’s, and peer partner behavioral health interns.

Fiscal Accountability:

  • Oversee the development and management of program budgets, ensuring that programs meet financial targets.
  • Work with program managers to monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and implement performance improvement strategies.

Program Evaluation:

  • Monitor, evaluate and report on the quality and outcomes of programs and services.
  • Monitor County contract productivity and budgets, analyze data and report out.
  • Prepare and review contracts and memoranda of understanding, write reports to funders and contract monitors.

Business Development:

  • Pursue curation and expansion of existing programs and development of new programs, including diversification of sustainable funding sources.
  • Foster opportunities to leverage and integrate existing Behavioral Health programs with Primary Care and Wellness, to align with organizational strategy.

  • Develop programming responsive to behavioral health needs of the community and supporting the integrated care model.
  • Design service delivery to provide high quality services in the office, community, and school sites.

Requirements:

Licensed in California as a Marriage Family Therapist, Social Worker, Professional Clinical Counselor, or Psychologist.

  • Master’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, or Marriage Family Therapy) required.
  • Licensed in the state of California as a Marriage Family Therapist, Social Worker, or Psychologist.
  • 10 or more years of related work experience.
  • Five or more years of management/supervisory experience required.
