Purpose

PURPOSE

The National Director of IOLs will lead the sales strategy, execution, and performance of BVI’s Intraocular Lens (IOL) product line across the United States. This role involves building and managing a nationwide team of sales representatives, driving growth in market share, cultivating relationships with key ophthalmologists and eye care professionals, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and customer service. The Director will play a critical role in establishing BVI as a leader in the IOL market by fostering innovation, ensuring customer satisfaction, and supporting long-term strategic growth.

Key Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy for IOLs to drive market penetration and revenue growth.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a national team of sales representatives to achieve regional sales goals and promote professional development.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in the IOL segment.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), ophthalmologists, and surgical centers to promote BVI’s IOL product line.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product management, and R&D teams to develop sales tools, training materials, and strategies to support the IOL business.
  • Performance Metrics: Monitor and report on sales performance, market share, and key success indicators; adjust strategies as needed to meet or exceed targets.
  • Compliance & Ethics: Ensure all sales activities comply with industry regulations, internal policies, and ethical standards.

Qualification

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in sales, with at least 3 years in a management role within the medical device or ophthalmology industry.
    • Proven track record of successfully managing a sales team and growing a product line within the healthcare sector.
    • Experience working with ophthalmic products, particularly IOLs, is a strong advantage.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to analyze data and market trends to make strategic decisions.
    • Excellent negotiation and relationship-building capabilities.
    • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance within the medical device industry.
    • Proficiency in CRM software and Knowledge of Microsoft Office’s suite of products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Team.
