Lead Africa – EDGE Green Building Scheme

The role:


Bureau Veritas Africa is seeking an experienced Green Building Specialist responsible for managing IFC Edge green building certification services for BV Africa. This role is strategic within Bureau Veritas strategy LEAP28 and encompasses business development, service delivery, client management, and team leadership, with a strong focus on building relationships with local stakeholders. We will consider candidates from any geographical area who will be willing to work remotely anywhere in Africa and travel within Africa when the need arises.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Delivery Management:
  • Coordinate and monitor the delivery of Edge certification services across BV Affiliates network
  • Develop the pool of Edge auditors
  • Support the implementation of quality procedures and contribute to its continuous development
  • Participate actively to service delivery excellence
  • Manage activity P&L
  1. Business Growth
  • Lead marketing and sales development strategy
  • Develop internal awareness about service offering
  • Support the preparation of tenders and training of sales team on procedures
  • Management of Key accounts at Africa level
  • Develop strategic partnerships with public and private market stakeholders
  1. Interface with scheme representatives
  • Develop strong relationship with local teams
  • Ensure regular follow up with scheme representatives Head Office
  • Support the coordination of periodical audits and reporting on activities


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in green building certification or sustainability consulting.
  • Thorough understanding of the IFC EDGE standard and its technical requirements.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and oral communication in French and English and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in building strategic partnership and develop high level relationship with global private entities
  • Accountability and problem solving oriented
  • Continuous learning and professional development in the field of sustainable design and green building.
