Job Summary:
Manages the new business sales process for the Large Group Commercial segment. Manages and directs the daily activities and duties of the Large Group sales team. Actively assesses staff productivity level and monitors and trains staff to meet departmental and organizational goals. Develops and competitively positions the Large Group products and aligns the Large Group sales team efforts with organizational and departmental goals.
Job Duties:
- Manages the growth of new membership in the Large Group segment through effective sales management and processes.
- Manages the sales department staff and assures timely and productive execution of planned strategies.
- Responds to changes and fluctuations in the environment with appropriate modifications in the departmental strategy.
- Recruits and hires new sales representatives.
- Performs sales and customer service training to new and existing representatives as appropriate.
- Assesses the performance of each sales representative.
- Responds to achievements and deficiencies as appropriate.
- Oversees activities of representatives, providing customer service and support to prospective clients.
- Develops and maintains business and community contacts to promote the Health Plan.
- Maintains relationships and coordination with other health plan's departments in the execution of sales strategies, new products and programs, problem resolution, policies and procedures.
- Responsible for on-going maintenance to database according to current requirements.
- Coordinates lead generation for direct activity and broker quotes and monitors completion of quote submissions.
- Assists the representatives in presenting to employer group decision makers, clients and individuals.
- Negotiates contracts.
- Calculates incentive compensation summaries for sales representatives.
- Meets and collaborates with external agents and brokers to enhance their marketing and enrollment efforts.
- Recruits and manages sales internship program.
- Develops and directs sales training.
- Assists leadership and Product Management in developing and deploying new products and solutions attractive to large group clients and prospects
