What you will be doing in the role of a 3-Day Fundraising Manager

The Fundraising Manager will play a crucial role in the success of the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Series and will be responsible for contributing to the multi-million-dollar Series goal.  You’ll manage participant programs and work closely with participants to meet or exceed walker recruitment, retention, and fundraising goals.  You’ll cultivate and steward participants of Susan G. Komen’s 3-Day and own a personal and team fundraising goal driven by the management of your portfolio. 

What you will bring to the table 

  • Develop and implement strategies to recruit new participants for fundraising events.
  • Relationship Manager for high value participants who fundraise between $2,500- $100,000.
  • Manage a multi-million-dollar portfolio.
  • Responsible to retain and grow relationships with current participants, providing ongoing support and motivation to ensure their continued involvement.
  • Execute year-round stewardship touch plan adjusting tactics to meet financial goals.
  • Provide participants individual coaching plans utilizing resources, tools, and best practices to enhance their fundraising efforts.
  • Utilize data driven reports to measure fundraising progress and devise strategy for your pipeline providing regular updates to participants and management.
  • Collaborate with the events team to ensure successful execution of fundraising events.
  • Assist in planning, organizing and executing participant-related activities before, during, and after events.
  • Ensure participants have a positive and rewarding experience at events.
  • Conduct virtual and in person meetings to educate participants on effective fundraising ideas, overall event experience expectations and community social hours.
  • Act as a liaison between participants and the organization, addressing any questions or concerns promptly.
  • Work cross functionally with departments and across the organization to align fundraising efforts with overall organizational goals.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of new fundraising initiatives.
  • Support other team members as needed to achieve collective goals.
  • Responsible for portfolio management in Salesforce tracking all actions, notes and coaching plans in Salesforce. 
  • On-site relationship management of participant relationships at events

We know you have and will be able to

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in fundraising, participant management, or a related role.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire- both written and verbally.
  • Experience managing a revenue goal and portfolio between $1-$5 million, with demonstrated growth.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • A self-starter with a can-do attitude.
  • Able to work independently. 
  • Flexible and able to go with the flow.
  • Comfortable speaking occasionally in a small or large group setting both in-person and virtually.
  • Compassionate and professional as you will be interacting with some participants who are currently in treatment, breast cancer survivors and thrivers. (metastatic)
  • Computer savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience in Blackbaud’s Luminate Online and Salesforce preferred but not required.
  • Ability to support an overall strategic business plan, to see the big picture and understand how the tactical activities that can often seem small all contribute to overall success of a project.
  • Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of processes and systems and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Attitude of the consummate team member, willing to roll up their sleeves and operate in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and planning, organization, and follow-up skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, and advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Working knowledge of systems and tools like Salesforce, Asana and Luminate Online.
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and tools.
  • Travel requirements required outside of your home office will be based on our business needs and event dates.

  • Approximate salary $49,000 to $65,000, exact compensation ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job level, internal equity and budget. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's skills, experience and geographic location.
