The Role & What You Will Be Doing

Every day, we rise to the challenge to make a difference and here’s how the Regional Retail Tender and Dose Dispensing Lead – Europe (m/f/d) role will make an impact:

  • The role will lead the function that will enable the growth of the European retail tender and dose dispensing business. The role will be focused on meeting and exceeding the financial targets by working closely with Costing, Supply Chain, Sourcing and Commercial teams on key initiatives for the European Region.

  • Partner with local commercial teams to enable regional retail tender and dose dispensing strategies and assist the local team with meeting financial targets both short term and long term.

  • Develop a foundation where Viatris is a leader in Europe for Tenders with non-pricing related scoring.  Engage with CSR, Environmental, Manufacturing, Policy and other relevant teams to position Viatris and Viatris Products in a leadership position.

  • Drive product portfolio decisions to differentiate the Viatris offering to tendering bodies and dose dispensing customers by working with Portfolio, R&D, Sourcing, BD and other relevant functions.

  • Establish and manage a process to define a cross-market and cross-function Product Characteristics to help support the use of the product and meet tender non-price requirements.  Work with Sourcing, launch teams, Regulatory and other relevant functions to enable this.

  • Coordinate and develop Tender Launch strategy in collaboration with regional launch functions and countries, strategically engaging in tender opening timelines, offering pricing guidance, and leveraging both external and internal intelligence.

  • Track performance of launch products in tenders against budget and pricing levels across markets to create a market intelligence knowledge base and align tender bidding guidance accordingly.

  • Share tender and commercial best practices and enable opportunities across the region.  Create action plans to mitigate risks.

  • Enable geographic expansion across Europe to assist the growth of the Retail Tender and Dose Dispensing channels by working with Local Hospital Teams, Portfolio, Launch and Sourcing teams.

  • Create and Manage price trend analysis across the European region and share insights with key stakeholders

  • Work closely with the Cost Finance and Sourcing teams to inform them of current market information on bid prices and required costs for successful tender strategies.  Assist with cost optimization projects.

  • Partner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Sourcing to optimize the stock and cost.

  • Drive a country co-pack strategy and pack size strategy to help create flexibility in supply chain

  • Develop and manage a generic retail product database of key information from commercial, regulatory, sourcing, supply chain and finance for priority products.

About Your Skills & Experience

For this role, we’re looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following qualifications, skills and experiences:

  • The ideal candidate will hold a master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant subject.

  • Extensive experience of Tender Management within the pharmaceutical industry is essential for this position. 

  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical industry for Tender/Dose Dispensing Channel in Europe (Commercial, Supply Chain, R&D,etc.)

  • Experience across the following areas would be beneficial; Generic Pricing, Costing and Sourcing Process knowledge.

  • Have strong Pharmaceutical Product knowledge (Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Dose Dispensing Products)
