Job description

POS-26650

About the Team:

Join HubSpot's Marketplace Product Group, where we connect our customers with essential goods and services, including apps, from our diverse partner ecosystem. Our mission has two parts:

  • We empower partners and developers by simplifying the process of listing and distributing products through our marketplaces
  • We support end customers in finding and adopting the solutions they need to succeed on HubSpot’s platform

With the recent release of app cards, our developer platform has undergone a significant transformation. These app cards enable developers to build dynamic, React-based applications that directly integrate into HubSpot’s UI. These new capabilities have created large opportunities for our customers and partners, which in turn increases the importance of HubSpot’s marketplaces.

The Marketplace Framework team is building out a new platform to power marketplaces at HubSpot. Our goal is to accelerate the pace of development and iteration in HubSpot’s ecosystem by building an extensible and reusable data model to power any type of product or service that third party companies can provide through our partner programs and developer platform.

What You'll Do:
  • Design and build the core data models that will power all current and future marketplace products at HubSpot.
  • Create the APIs and interfaces that connect our marketplace to the rest of the platform, letting the other marketplace teams easily access the data they need without having to build their own integrations
  • Deepen our analytics system that shows partners how their products are performing in the marketplace, helping them make data-driven product and listing improvements
  • Improve and automate parts of the product listing process, making it faster for teams to launch new items in the marketplace

Join us in shaping the future of HubSpot’s marketplace. Your work will directly impact the success of our partners and customers, helping both groups grow their businesses and get the most value they can out of HubSpot’s platform.

As a Senior Engineer, you will:

  • Write and ship production code that has meaningful and measurable user and business impact
  • Envision, build and analyze new features and tools, each contributing to company growth and revenue
  • Work with a small cross functional team of engineers, PMs, designers, content designers, and researchers
  • Collaborate with HubSpotters all over the company, whether in engineering, product, design, research, marketing, support, etc
  • Help thousands of HubSpot customers meet their goals and grow their companies, stemming from changes you’ve made
  • Implement experiments that give us valuable insights into user behavior and how to improve their experience
  • Get exposure to how HubSpot works as a business

You may be a fit if:

  • A strong backend engineer with experience writing Java
  • A bias for ownership, a self-starter, and willingness to dive in & drive work forward
  • You are focused on building user centric solutions. You build empathy for their challenges and understand how they may flow through our product.
  • You not only get excited about big, technical challenges, but also about being close to the business

This role is based in Cambridge, MA and requires minimum 2-3 days in the office per week.
