Job description

Manager, Digital Designer, E-Commerce & CRM

Job Purpose

About the Team

At Panera we believe that good food can bring out the best in all of us. We love the role that food plays in people’s lives, and we work hard to create interactions that elevate the experience of ordering, eating, and sharing it. We’re looking for a Product Designer to join our team of designers, prototypers, collaborators, bakers and craftspeople. We embrace vulnerability - we’re unafraid to make mistakes, own up to them, and do it differently next time. Healthy debate? Bring it on - we love it as much as we do hunting down the research and analytics we need to crack that next brilliant UX solution. Most importantly, we support each other, and we like working together.

About You

You do not have to love food, but you love the creative process, and you love collaborating. As a Digital Designer on the UX team you’ll be part of a team that’s been recognized by Fast Company as one of the most innovative in the world.  The Digital Designer collaborates with Brand, UX and Marketing to design graphics across all our e-commerce properties: web, mobile apps, and digital experiences in retail spaces. You’re a passionate visual designer who understands UX and the unique needs of the digital space.

What You’ll Learn at Panera

  • How to work with cross-functional teams of people that think deeply about engagement and rewards programs, customer service, menu creation, and operations
  • How digital can support customers across their entire journey, from home to restaurant and back; you’ll join a team increasingly focused on the entire customer experience
  • How to embrace all aspects of Product Design – from Experience Strategy, Research, User Experience to a love of visual design exploration and perfection.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design graphics for digital properties include mobile, web, kiosk, digital menu boards, email, etc.
  • Partner closely with brand and marketing teams to define look and feel of seasonal brand stories
  • Develop and synthesize A/B testing results to help drive forward digital design direction
  • Develop, conduct and analyze user research and use insights & data  to help drive forward product vision
  • Provide visual design for UX deliverables and emails based on research
  • Collaborate on the development and implementation of brand standards in digital properties
  • Ensure projects are delivered in a timely manner and align with brand standards
  • Clearly organize and present designs and projects to any level of the organization
  • Encourage healthy debate and facilitate conversation with recognition for the value of diversity and thought expression
  • Build relationships and trust between disciplinary teams
  • Give and solicit feedback from peers and mentors.  Encourage honest feedback
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communicating clearly with various stakeholders and both responding to and providing constructive feedback
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills; ability to multitask and meet production schedules

Qualifications (Education & Experience)

  • 5+ years visual design for digital experiences
  • A portfolio that demonstrates a strong understanding of the principles of visual design and their application in the digital space

  • Ability to facilitate a high-morale, motivating team environment
  • Ability to manage multiple, competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
