Yahoo is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Principal Product Designer on the Search team to lead the redesign of Search. As the Senior Principal Product Designer, you will envision how people experience our products through Yahoo search and bring that vision to life. You will tackle complex tasks and transform them into intuitive, accessible and easy-to-use brand-forward designs for millions of people. You will work in collaboration with Designers, Researchers, Engineers, Product Managers, Business Owners, Content Strategists and Marketing to drive thought leadership behind some of the most important and exciting initiatives on the Search team.

Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with cross-functional partners and vertical teams, including designers, product managers, engineers, UX researchers, data scientists, content strategists, brand and marketing to help craft the long-term vision and strategy
Lead stakeholder discussions and presentations, run design reviews, sprints and other rituals to drive alignment and influence
Lead end-to-end ideation, research, prototyping and validation
Partner with design systems team to define cohesive and scalable experiences
Set the bar high by knowing what quality looks like, and how to help product, engineering and other partner teams ship at that quality with minimal impact on velocity
Champion user-centric design principles and methodologies to ensure designs are grounded in data and user insights
Be the voice for our users and champion solving user problems
Partner closely with your product and engineering leads to drive innovation and push the boundaries of what’s possible
You should feel comfortable changing elevations quickly, from high-level critical thinking to evaluating research, interaction, and design execution
Strong storytelling skills to drive alignment and influence
Own project priorities and squad roadmap
Mentor, guide and influence other designers on the team
Qualifications:
10+ years product design experience or related field.
Bachelors or equivalent degree in Human Computer Interaction, graphic design or other relevant field
A portfolio demonstrating your high quality work, and expertise in designing successful product experiences
Deep knowledge of user experience methodologies, design principles and frameworks
Proven track record in driving vision and shaping product experiences
Experience working with qualitative and quantitative data to balance user needs and business objectives
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Experience leading design projects across teams within an organization.
A passion for mentoring and coaching other designers
A track record of delivering high-quality, innovative design solutions that users love
Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Origami, Webflow, and Adobe Creative Suite

The compensation for this position ranges from $143,625.00 - $299,375.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
