About the role

As part of Marketing at Dremio, the Principal PLG Manager will be responsible for growing the use of Dremio in the data and analytics community.  The role includes leading a cross-functional team, prioritizing initiatives, creating content, and implementing successful initiatives spanning the Dremio Community, evangelism, meetups, paid media, web experience, reporting, and product experience. The ideal candidate is data-driven, highly collaborative, strategic, and has a strong bias for action. You are an analytical, proactive problem solver. You enjoy solving complex problems and working cross-functionally when needed to discover insights, optimize processes, and deliver results. Success in the position requires problem-solving and experimentation skills, as well as a passion for user experience, automation, and customer success. This role will report to the Chief Marketing Officer and partner closely with the entire marketing team to create and deliver.

What you’ll be doing
  • Develop various programs which focus on: Educating the community,  onboarding new users and accelerating feature adoption and usage
  • Lead a diverse tiger team all set on a common goal
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive growth marketing strategy that boosts customer acquisition and engagement
  • Prioritize work across multiple departments
  • Take a customer experience approach to deeply understand customer problems and desired experience
  • Develop a strategic roadmap based off data-driven recommendations, focused on ideas that will "move the needle"
  • Conduct experimentation across all marketing channels
  • Oversee conversion rate optimization strategies, including funnel analysis, website optimization, and landing page testing, ultimately optimizing our website to maximize the acquisition of newcomers, increase engagement, and grow conversions
  • Monitor, analyze and report on key marketing metrics, providing insights and recommendations to improve marketing effectiveness
  • Employ strategies and testing to target and grow customer base in identified key segments/cohorts, using a range of tactics to drive from awareness to conversion
  • Expand the Dremio Community
  • Conduct experimentation across all marketing channels, including performance marketing, affiliate partners, lifecycle marketing, referral, and content

What we’re looking for
  • Minimum of 12+ years of digital experience with at least 6+ years in a growth-focused role, preferably in a fast-paced and high-growth environment; prior experience in a fintech start-up is a plus
  • Demonstrated past accomplishments in crafting digital experience that yield measurable outcomes, such as increased product usage
  • An analytical and data-driven background, with a proven ability to extract valuable insights and narratives from data into results-oriented marketing strategies
  • Proactive and strategic problem solver who thrives in ambiguity and change, with a strong bias to action and a sense of curiosity, and is eager to take ownership of driving growth
  • Proven track record of driving scalable, sustainable growth strategy through testing, measurement, and iteration frameworks
  • Proven expertise across digital performance marketing, acquisition, and retention programs with fluency in marketing automation systems
  • Self-starter who can operate well in a collaborative team environment and adapt effectively to changing business priorities/strategies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Preference for a technical degree and an M.B.A.

The base salary range for this position is $180,000 to $200,000 per year. The base salary actually offered to a successful candidate will take into account various relevant and non-discriminatory business factors including, without limitation, the candidate’s geographic location, job-related experience, knowledge, and skills, and education, as well as internal equity considerations. A successful candidate may also be eligible to earn additional compensation including commissions and/or bonuses.
