Weekly outpatient therapy isn't always enough, and a trip to the ER isn't the only answer. Patients and their families rely on Compass Health Center when in crisis – every day, we help people overcome depression, anxiety, suicidality, obsessions/compulsions, trauma, chronic pain, and other obstacles in order for our patients to live freely.

About This Role

About This Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive EMR Applications Trainer II to lead the design, development, and delivery of training programs for our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, Aura. You’ll be at the heart of our efforts to enhance clinical workflows, partnering closely with senior leadership to ensure Aura is fine-tuned to meet the needs of our clinical staff. In addition to spearheading the development and rollout of training, you’ll help manage our Super User Program and collaborate with the Power Platforms team to integrate new enhancements into our training strategy. If you’re passionate about empowering teams through technology and training, this is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact on our success and drive EMR adoption throughout the organization.

Our dedicated operations teams work behind the scenes to bring our shared mission to life. Each department delivers their own set of strengths which empower our clinicians to focus on their expertise, and ultimately perform the meaningful work that we do.

What You’ll Do

1. EMR Training & Curriculum:

  • Design, develop, and implement engaging EMR training programs tailored to a variety of learner levels, from new hires to advanced users.
  • Create comprehensive training materials, including e-learning modules, user manuals, quick reference guides, video tutorials, and job aids.
  • Deliver in-person, virtual, and hybrid training sessions to diverse clinical teams across multiple departments, including psychiatry team members.
  • Develop curriculum updates based on system upgrades, new feature rollouts, and changing clinical workflows.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure content accuracy, relevance, and alignment with institutional needs.

2. Super User Program Support:

  • Work closely with the EMR Applications Team and Senior Clinical Leaders in the recruiting, training, and support of Super Users in various clinical areas.
  • Develop structured learning paths and assessment tools to ensure Super Users are proficient in both EMR technical skills and in supporting their peers.
  • Provide ongoing guidance and mentoring to Super Users, fostering a community of practice that enhances peer-to-peer support.
  • Monitor Super User performance, collect feedback, and adjust training and support resources as needed.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Super Users, addressing their questions and challenges, and escalating issues as appropriate.

3. Relationship Building with Senior Clinical Leadership:

  • Serve as a liaison between the EMR Applications Team and senior clinical leadership to ensure the EMR system is effectively supporting clinical workflows and patient care initiatives.
  • Regularly engage with senior leadership to provide updates on training progress, identify areas for improvement, and make recommendations for system or workflow changes.
  • Collaborate with leadership to drive adoption of EMR initiatives and support strategic goals around digital transformation in healthcare.
  • Gather and analyze feedback from clinical leaders and Power BI reports on system usage, and incorporate this feedback into training and development efforts.

4. Continuous Improvement & Evaluation:

  • Conduct ongoing assessments of training effectiveness through user feedback, performance metrics, and system usage data to continually improve the training experience.
  • Stay current on best practices in EMR training, curriculum development, and healthcare technology, implementing innovative approaches to training and support.
  • Create and maintain detailed training records, reports, and documentation for compliance and quality assurance purposes.
  • Other duties as assigned

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in classroom training, preferably in healthcare or with EMR training and support.
  • Proven experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, etc.), with a strong understanding of clinical workflows and how they intersect with technology.
  • Experience managing or developing a Super User program is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience working with senior clinical leadership in a healthcare setting is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum creation principles, adult learning theory, and training methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse audiences.
  • Ability to effectively translate complex EMR system information into user-friendly training content.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • High level of technical proficiency with EMR systems, e-learning platforms, and training software.
  • Skilled in relationship building and fostering collaborative, cross-functional partnerships.
  • Ability to travel to different facilities or clinical sites as needed.
