Job Description

The People Relations Team is committed to fostering a workplace where employees feel valued and treated with dignity, especially when addressing sensitive workplace issues. As a key member of this team, the People Relations Specialist plays a vital role in coaching leaders at all levels and providing a consistent framework for supporting employee performance. This role partners with leaders to offer guidance on company policies and best practices in employee relations, performance management, coaching, progressive discipline, and employment law, ensuring a fair and compliant work environment.

This is a remote position and can be located anywhere in the United States.

Responsibilities
  • Partner, collaborate and oversee the execution of corrective action and performance improvement plans (PIPs) documents, ensuring they are aligned with company policies and are effectively communicated to employees and managers
  • Conduct background check adjudications by reviewing background reports and making decisions in line with company standards and legal requirements
  • Support the planning and execution of reductions in force (RIFs), ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements
  • Handle unemployment insurance (UI) follow up and represent company in appeals processes, representing the company in hearings as needed
  • Conduct quarterly audits of field bonus programs to identify potential employee relations issues and recommend corrective actions
  • Partner with Safety team to review Loader incidents to provide recommendation on corrective actions
  • Assist with workplace investigations/reviews as requested
  • Flexible and willing to perform other tasks as assigned

    Qualifications
  • SHRM-CP or HRCI given preference
  • 2-4 Years of HR Generalist Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and equivalent work experience required
  • Knowledge of employment and labor laws
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suites
  • Ability to travel 25 – 30% of the time
