Our client is seeking a highly motivated REMOTE Outside Sales Representative to join their premier organization in higher education publishing that is committed to enhancing educational resources and making textbooks more affordable for students. As their team expands, they need an extroverted & ambitious individual to travel to universities in the Philly and Pittsburgh area, as well as Richmond and Boston, and engage with college professors to develop new education content. If you are experienced in outside sales and enjoy traveling, then this is the job for you!

Outside Sales Representative Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years of outside sales experience
  • BA/BS degree required
  • Must be self-driven, articulate, and comfortable initiating conversations with college professors
  • Adept listening skills and emotional stability are essential
  • MUST BE in a centralized area that is close to an airport; willing to travel extensively within the territory
  • Valid driver s license required
  • Sales experience in a non-tangible product sector (e.g., insurance, time shares) preferred

Outside Sales Representative Responsibilities

  • Travel to universities within your territory to engage with college professors to brainstorm and develop new content for educational purposes
  • Build relationships with educators to understand their needs and offer tailored textbook solutions
  • Manage the sales process from initial contact to closing deals including scheduling and conducting demos, understanding their pain points and offering solutions,
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth project planning and execution
  • Manage the entire publication process of projects to ensure publications launch on time at high-quality standard, assist with troubleshooting and resolving issues as they arise
  • Travel up to 30% of the time, including both full travel weeks and local visits
