Job description

About the Role

At Doppel, we are committed to empowering our customers to operate with speed and precision by pioneering solutions that make cybersecurity accessible and actionable. As a fast-growing SaaS company, we are looking for a Senior Accountant who wants to make a tangible impact on financial operations and company growth.

As a Senior Accountant, you will own accounting operations, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting and compliance while providing insights to the leadership team. This position offers a hands-on opportunity to shape financial processes, maintain high standards, and directly contribute to company success. If you're passionate about accuracy, detail, and process improvement in a tech-focused environment, we’d love to meet you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Core Accounting Operations: Oversee daily accounting workflows, including accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), revenue recognition, and cash flow management to ensure accuracy and integrity in all financial processes.

  • Accounts Receivable and Customer Relations: Manage the full cycle of accounts receivable, including subscription-based invoicing, revenue recognition under ASC 606, and weekly AR aging reviews. Partner with internal teams and build strong customer relationships to ensure timely payments and resolve discrepancies.

  • Accounts Payable and Vendor Relations: Manage the full cycle of accounts payable, including vendor setup, invoice processing, and payments. Reconcile monthly statements and transactions to ensure invoice accuracy and proper general ledger (GL) coding. Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to streamline payment processing and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.

  • Month-End and Year-End Close: Lead month-end and year-end close activities, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, flux analysis, and related reporting to produce timely and accurate financial statements aligned with GAAP.

  • Reconciliations and Compliance: Ensure account accuracy through regular bank and credit card reconciliations. Support external audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance, coordinating with tax accountants for federal and state income tax filings.

  • Payroll Management: Collaborate with HR to oversee payroll processing, ensure timely and compliant employee payments, and address payroll tax filings and discrepancies.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration and Financial Insights: Work closely with department leaders to provide financial insights that support decision-making. Analyze monthly operating results against budgets and contribute insights for strategic planning.

  • Process and System Improvements: Identify and implement enhancements in accounting processes and systems to increase efficiency, support scalability, and enable Doppelgangers to move fast.

Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within SaaS or a technology-driven company.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Excel, Ramp, and Rippling.

  • GAAP Knowledge: In-depth understanding of GAAP principles.

  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous organizational and analytical skills.

  • Prioritization Skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

  • Communication Skills: Strong communicator who can effectively present financial data to management and foster collaboration across teams.

  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Skilled in data analysis and able to make strategic, data-driven recommendations that align with Doppel’s mission.
