The Rare Blood Disorders franchise is a patient centric organization responsible for delivering the highest quality education and service regarding disease and treatment. The goal of the franchise is to penetrate existing and new markets to meet business goals by educating physicians and healthcare professionals on a portfolio of products while upholding the Company's mission and values.   

Sanofi’s Rare Hematology Northeast Thought Leader Liaison is expected to possess a high level of clinical and customer knowledge, have experience with both field and headquarters protocols and procedures, and possess drive and spirit to engage and influence health care professionals to help build educational platforms, generate insights and inform the execution of current and future brand and disease-state strategies. The Rare Hematology portfolio is focused in autoimmune blood disorders that includes CABLIVI (caplacizumab-yhdp) for immune/acquired thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (iTTP/aTTP) and anticipated launch of a new treatment option for Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP).

The Rare Hematology Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) role is a field-based marketing role that works closely with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).  The TLL will also work closely, and within approved SOPs, with other field professionals including, but not limited to, Regional Business Directors, Area Business Managers, Institutional Account Directors and Medical Science Liaisons; in addition to home office-based colleagues in Marketing, Medical Affairs, Operations and Market Access.

The Thought Leader Liaison, Rare Hematology will report to the Director, Thought Leader Liaisons, Rare Hematology.

Main Responsibilities:  

The TLL job responsibilities are focused in three key areas.  All TLL interactions are on-label and consistent with commercial compliance, legal and regulatory guidelines.

KOL Development and Engagement

  • Align with cross-functional colleagues to coordinate function-specific activities aligned to business and customer needs

  • Identify, profile, cultivate and maintain long-term partnerships with KOLs/Emerging leaders within the Hematology community 

  • Engage in on-label conversations on topics such as disease diagnosis & treatment, therapeutic options, and product positioning

  • Execute unique, on-label and strategic HCP programming (e.g. disease state and product) as determined by brand needs

  • Serve as a single point-of-contact to resolve commercial KOL issues

  • Execute a customer centric, needs-based approach with targeted KOLs

  • Plan and execute KOL engagements and executive encounters at local, regional and national conferences, field visits and other venues as directed 

Market Insights & Collaboration

  • Capture, analyze and share customer insights aligned with brand priorities 

  • Work with targeted KOLs to obtain feedback on new and existing brand-related strategies/materials (all materials and programs a TLL will request will be approved by legal, compliance and regulatory)

  • Capture and analyze competitive intelligence to help shape strategy and activities

  • Facilitate cross-functional planning, recruitment and execution of regional and national advisory boards

  • Identify, align and recruit appropriate HCP/KOL consultants to meet the needs of marketing and achieve aligned-upon KPIs for each project

Speaker Bureau Operations and Content

  • Assist with speaker bureau management, including identification of and/or training/coaching of promotional speakers with approved slide decks and materials

  • Assist in the execution of speaker contracting when requested, including, but not limited to, completion of annual budget plan, recommendations and nominations

  • Coordinate and execute speaker training to ensure assigned speakers are competent, compliant and up to date on new information

  • Attend HCP Speaker programs to observe, coach and remediate the speaker when necessary to ensure optimal execution of content

  • Assist with new content creation and existing content updates and renewals

  • Manage monthly reporting on Speaker Program KPIs and field force performance

  • Serve as the single point of contact for high volume speaker logistics/scheduling and work cross-functionally to ensure streamlined communication

  • Lead planning, execution and pull-through of TLL-owned programs

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree 

  • Prior experience interacting with Key Opinion Leaders (KOL)

  • A minimum of five years of work experience in one or more of the following: field sales, product marketing, or medical/clinical in the pharmaceutical/bitech space

  • Ability to travel to meetings/trainings/programs as necessary

  • Must have valid driver’s license

  • Must reside within the geographic area of the assigned territory, or within a reasonable distance as determined by leadership

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Rare Diseases/Hematology

  • Experience in marketing or leading marketing projects

  • Master’s degree in related field

  • Launch experience

  • Previous experience working as a Thought Leader Liaison

  • KOL and/or speaker management experience

The salary range for this position is $140,250.00 - $187,000.00 USD Annually. In addition to sales incentive (role may my eligible for long term incentive depending on level and performance); all compensation will be determined commensurate with demonstrated experience.
