SafeStep is currently seeking to fill an immediate need for a Buyer - Supply Planning position. In this role, you will be responsible for the following, including, but not limited to: Planning and re-ordering of installation materials, Demand planning and forecasting, Purchase order processing, and ensuring inventory level standards are being met. This role is approved to be either Remote within the United States or Hybrid in Huntington Beach, CA, Nashville, TN, and Eden Prairie, Minnesota, in accordance with company policy.
Job Duties
- Analyze inventory (weekly) to determine and prepare purchase orders.
- Run, export and review various reports to identify re-ordering needs as well as to produce dashboards to report on hand inventory valuation, open orders valuation etc.
- Ensuring raw materials, components and installation supplies are ordered accurately and are delivered on-time to support installation schedules.
- Purchase order(s) entry and vendor follow up.
- Produce list of urgent requirements and communicate to vendors as needed to ensure product is expedited.
- Ensure top key items are always fully stocked as per inventory protocols and guidelines.
- Prepare sales analysis (based on historical trends) to product monthly run rates to consider for re-ordering, as well as to produce material forecasts for demand planning.
- Monitor on order quantity and inventory status for each item under the different production plans (i.e. MTO, MTS, Warranty and service parts).
- Communicate inventory issues and impact to other department or stake holders.
- Perform Root Cause Counter Measure when shortages occur.
- Maintain a solid relationship with all suppliers and ensure strong 2-way communication is present.
- Responsible for the ERP system maintenance to ensure open PO’s, BOM’s, price and items are updated as needed.
- Work in conjunction with internal and external stake holders to ensure accuracy of inventory.
- Support physical and spot check inventory processes.
- Monitors and evaluates supplier performance
- SKU and product categories rationalization analysis.
- Help write, implement and maintain SOP.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, OUTLOOK–Advanced Excel skills required. (experience with pivot tables and VLook ups is a must)
- APICS certification preferred, CPIM or CSCP a plus
- 3+ years related retail/wholesale inventory planning, reordering, analytical forecasting and inventory control experience.
- Ability to read, analyze and write business correspondence reports.
- Strong understanding of statistical trends and implication of projections
- Ability to analyze reports with very large amount of data, decipher/understand/interoperate the information and arrive at the appropriate planning/buying decision.
- Proficiency in using inventory management and tracking systems.
- Ability to follow detailed processes and procedures accurately.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must have a positive attitude, with a focus on teamwork and rapid problem resolution.

Actual pay rate may vary depending upon location. The estimated pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on a candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.
