About the Role:
Confluent is looking for an experienced technical resource with software development and stream processing experience to help drive adoption and awareness of Confluent among technical audiences such as developers, architects, and technical executives. Confluent makes it easy to use Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, and Apache Iceberg to set your data in motion, and we need your help in creating compelling market-facing technical materials that effectively showcase our Apache Flink service. You will collaborate closely with our Apache Flink product marketing, product management, and technical teams to demonstrate how Confluent can help users address their unique challenges.
What You Will Do:
- Develop and curate a comprehensive catalog of technical assets that demonstrate the value of stream processing with Confluent Cloud for Apache Flink, showcasing the power and impact of real-time data processing and analytics.
- Collaborate with product and product marketing teams to determine technical content plans across solutions, use cases, differentiated features, and product launches—focusing on Confluent Cloud for Apache Flink and stream processing for a technical audience.
- Author technical content such as blogs, whitepapers, and reference architectures on Confluent solutions and stream processing use cases.
- Conduct competitive analysis of other stream processing tools, evaluating their strengths, weaknesses, and unique features to ensure Confluent’s stream and data processing solutions remain market-leading.
- Conduct and support workshops, interactive webinars, and hands-on events that demonstrate how to leverage Confluent Cloud and Confluent Platform for Apache Flink and stream processing to solve critical business challenges.
- Engage with technical influencers and contributors interested in Confluent, Apache Flink, and stream processing, and provide insights into evaluating streaming technologies across third-party platforms.
- Evangelize solutions to the most common and high-impact streaming use cases faced by customers, using webinars, talks, documentation, and technical examples that emphasize Apache Flink’s capabilities.
- Identify product gaps related to stream processing and real-time analytics, and work closely with Apache Flink Product Management to prioritize developer needs and integrate them into Confluent’s roadmap.
What You Will Bring:
- 3-5 years of experience with stream processing technologies such as Apache Flink, Kafka Streams, or Spark Structured Streaming.
- Strong expertise in Apache Kafka, distributed systems, and fully managed cloud infrastructure.
- Proficient in SQL with strong expertise in either Java or Python.
- Proven experience in roles like technical marketing, software development, solutions architecture, technical sales, or developer relations, with a talent for quickly mastering new technologies.
- Ability to write top-quality code samples and mini-applications to tie our technology offerings to our marketing initiatives.
- A track record of working in a cross-functional role that balances the needs of different stakeholders, while still prioritizing the customer/developer.
What Gives You an Edge:
- Good JVM language programmer (Java preferred) with experience in other commonly used languages and technologies.
- The curiosity to keep up to date on the latest technologies related to Confluent, streaming data, and distributed systems.
- Practical experience with cloud architectures, fully managed cloud services, and comparable offerings from cloud service providers.

At Confluent, we are committed to providing competitive pay and benefits that are in line with industry standards. We analyze and carefully consider several factors when determining compensation, including work history, education, professional experience, and location. This position has an annual estimated salary of $161,600.- $237,400.00 , an annual bonus, and a competitive equity package.
