Opsahl Dawson (ODC) was founded in 1979 in Longview, WA, where we have flourished into the award-winning firm we are today. We specialize in Accounting, Tax Preparation, and Bookkeeping with 75+ people across the United States. With 30+ years of proven service, we’re the go-to CPA firm in SW Washington. You’ll be joining a fun team and a renowned firm that was named a 2022 Best Midsized Firm to Work for by Accounting Today.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Associate to join Opsahl Dawson’s Tax Forward Team to help create value for our wealth management clients through client-focused strategic tax planning! Leveraging your expertise in tax matters & client relations, you’ll manage crucial client relationships, delivering superior service. As their trusted advisor, you’ll assist clients with current tax issues and craft strategic tax planning options. Your forward-thinking mindset will enhance service delivery, ensuring innovation remains at the forefront.
In this role, you’ll collaborate with members across ODC and work as a united team, maintaining a fun work environment! You’ll also have the opportunity to further your career growth through building your skillset and becoming a mentor and coach, encouraging a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Key Responsibilities

Manage client cases, consistently delivering high-quality service

Prepare and provide tax planning and projection support service to clients

Ensure accuracy of preparation of tax projections

Enhance efficiency across project initiatives

Stay up to date with tax regulations, conduct diligent research, and provide consultation on intermediate level tax matters
Required Qualifications
-
CPA or EA required
-
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
-
5+ years of tax planning & tax compliance experience
-
Strong client-facing interpersonal and communication skills
-
Attention to detail
-
Proficiency with tax and accounting software
Preferred Qualifications:

Public accounting experience
-
Working experience with QuickBooks, CCH Axcess, or Workstream

Substantial knowledge of 1040, Partnerships, S-Corps

The annual base salary range for this role is $80,000-100,000. This range includes the anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on various factors, including experience, education and/or skill level.
