We are looking for a Region Sales Director to be a key member of the Yuengling Sales Leadership Team. This position is responsible for implementing Company Sales Strategy in the assigned region in alignment with company sales plan, and executing all aspects of DGY business within the assigned region. This position is responsible for the recommendation and execution of the regional sales volume plan, regional sales operating budget, short- and long-term region strategies, and aligning sales procedures with company direction. The individual will also help manage the selection, direction, staffing and development of the Yuengling field sales team within assigned region and in line with our company strategy. The position will manage and direct a network of wholesalers and is responsible for the execution of Yuengling’s sales standards and practices. This position also identifies specific business opportunities and develops and executes necessary strategies in conjunction with senior management and ownership.   This candidate must reside in the Philadelphia, PA area.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead development of strategic sales plan necessary to achieve region goals. 
  • Lead, inspire, and coordinate activities of all DGY field personnel and wholesalers within assigned region to ensure the implementation of all sales, chain and marketing programs for the entire portfolio of Yuengling products.
  • Develop, recommend and, upon approval, execute the annual division sales volume and revenue per case/barrel plan to maximize market potential, sales volume and gross profits within the assigned region.  
  • Oversee the activities within the region to provide information flow and business processes in support of the divisions field sales team.
  • Drive management of the region’s budgets and hold direct reports accountable to delivering volume goals, objectives, and tactics within assigned/agreed upon budgets.  
  • Work with Senior Leadership to develop and execute pricing and promotional plans for the region.
  • Coach and lead skills development and direction of the sales force for the team. Support the use of training and development tools within the assigned sales region.
  • Develop, recommend, and execute performance measures, including planning and assigning work/responsibilities, developing goals/objectives, and managing overall performance. 
  • Hold Region Team accountable to conducting regular sales meetings for key wholesaler management and sales personnel.  
  • Periodically work in the retail trade both with DGY and distribution sales personnel to model culture and selling environment.
  • Participate with Sales Leadership Team in Annual Company Sales Planning and forecasting process to ensure forecasting accuracy that supports the demand planning process in the supply chain.
  • Function as an integral member of the sales management team and establish and maintain relationships across all other functional areas internally as well as externally. Coordinate planning and constant clear communication across assigned region.
  • Review underperforming distributor markets and region sales employees and enact corrective action plans for these situations including, in some instances, termination.
  • Direct region team to identify and develop tactical programs for under-performing markets or brands within the division.

  • Strategic customer and distributor orientation, and the ability to build strong win-win relationships with our largest distributor ownerships.
  • Ability to follow specific directions with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to travel a minimum of 50% of the time to properly develop and foster culture of leadership and accountability. 
  • Must perform other duties as required by the immediate Supervisor.
Requirements

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or 10 years sales experience with at least five years in sales management, or the equivalent combination of education or experience. 
  • Strong track record of expanded sales management responsibilities and/or roles within beverage alcohol industry.
