Job Overview

Join our renowned power engineering consulting firm as a Substation Project Manager, where you will lead pivotal projects that contribute significantly to the electric utility and energy sectors. Key Responsibilities

  • Direct the conceptual, preliminary, and comprehensive design of new and upgraded substations.
  • Manage material procurement and provide essential support during construction, commissioning, and startup phases.
  • Oversee the scoping, budgeting, scheduling, planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting of substation projects and proposals.
  • Collaborate closely with a diverse project team, including engineers, designers, drafters, and support personnel.
  • Ensure strict adherence to quality control protocols, championing exceptional project execution and delivery.
  • Coordinate with experts across various disciplines, including Distribution Studies, Transmission Studies, and Environmental Planning.
  • Act as the primary liaison for clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Mentor and train design staff, fostering technical growth within the team.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 10 years of project engineering experience or a relevant combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated project management and leadership experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, combined with exceptional organizational and planning capabilities.
  • A commitment to precision and quality, with the ability to manage fast-paced project schedules.
  • Preferred qualifications include a PE license and PMP certification.
  • Proficiency in power engineering principles, along with knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and design tools.

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to oversee multiple technical disciplines to ensure successful completion of substation projects.
  • Applicants must be prepared for client-mandated drug and background checks.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary, requiring compliance with auto insurance carrier requirements.
  • Candidates must not require sponsorship for work visa status (e.g., H-1B visa) now or in the future.
