Job description

What is special about Lighthouse?

Lighthouse is built on a foundation of unique, compassionate, highly driven individuals.   We elevate the strengths and talents of those around us while leveraging opportunities for growth. We offer the experience of solving complex problems while continuing to grow multiple facets of your career. Lighthouse is where innovation meets support and where collaboration is the key ingredient to success.  We grow together and are stronger together.

What’s unique about this role?

More than 25 years ago, Lighthouse launched as a local document scanning and copying provider for legal discovery. As the legal technology landscape has changed, we’ve evolved with it, including the continual development of a world-class digital forensics team. Digital forensics often acts as a conduit, linking together key steps of an engagement-- as a first step in gathering evidence, an intermediate step in establishing the facts of a case, a final step in preparing for examination in court—and it requires both strategic understanding of behaviors and outcomes, and tactical skills to put knowledge into action. The talented individuals who make up Lighthouse’s digital forensics team have decades of combined experience across the collection, investigation, and analysis continuum, and hail from careers in security technology, software development, eDiscovery, law enforcement, and the military.  The diversity of background and technical acumen within the Lighthouse digital forensics team ensures that we can provide services across a plethora of use cases, using transparent, documented, and defensible workflows and methodologies.

Digital Forensics Project Managers (PMs) work closely with our consultants, associates and program managers to ensure the successful delivery of forensic services to our customers. They gather and document requirements for each project and ensure that our clients are kept apprised of its progress through client calls, emails and status reports. PMs work cross-functionally with their counterparts in Client Services, as well as Intake, Processing, Sales Enablement and Sales to ensure our customers transition smoothly between service lines. Forensics PMs will often serve as the main contact for larger clients across multiple matters and are very knowledgeable about forensic tools and processes.

What will this person do?

  • Assist with scoping and documenting project requirements and deadlines
  • Provide proactive, frequent, and detailed updates to clients on their project status
  • Work with the forensic team, and cross-functionally, to ensure deadlines are met
  • Answer questions on forensic processes, capabilities, tools and timelines
  • Lead client checkpoint meetings for large engagements
  • Work with our Intake team and clients to coordinate evidence shipping and receiving
  • Coordinate delivery of deliverables to external clients and internal stakeholders, as needed
  • Prepare client evidence tracking and status reports
  • Assist with developing, implementing, and optimizing Forensic department workflows and practices
  • Enter billable time and compelling descriptions daily
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Bring your passion and together we will shine.   It would also be great if you have the following:

  • Strong project management skills and experience required
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and shift between multiple matters
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical customers
  • Ability to manage a client, including occasional de-escalations
  • Strong understanding of data collection, preservation, and chain of custody principles and procedures
  • Familiarity or experience with EnCase, AccessData Forensic Toolkit, XWays, Cellebrite UFED and Physical Analyzer, Cellebrite Inspector (formerly Blacklight), Axiom or open-source forensic tools is a plus
