Western Door Federal is seeking a Power Platform Engineer to support the United States Military Academy - West Point. . 

The Power Platform Engineer applies advanced analysis skills and experience in the domain of Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft PowerApps to define appropriate customer solutions, provide solution development support and training of staff. This role requires a record of accomplishment of technical excellence with the proven ability to map customer business problems with end-to-end technology solutions. This person will have demonstrated the ability to discuss technology related to business needs, IT value, and Microsoft Power Platform with users at all skill levels.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Use resources effectively and efficiently to get work completed
  • Develop solutions from business requirements documentation
  • Produce technical solution documentation
  • Problem-solve solutions for novel challenges
  • Perform project work estimation and risk assessment
  • Use rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions
  • Implement solutions around data governance, security and compliance
  • Some travel will be required and dependent on the customer.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned and will follow instructions and respond to management direction
  • Power BI
    • Create advanced Microsoft Power BI reports and dashboards
    • Setup and implement Power BI service and enterprise governance of the platform – Power BI Service and Premium
    • Plan and document complex Azure data platform solutions
    • Develop solutions using Azure data and pipeline services
    • Present and lead customers through technical assessment and solution architecture
    • Map code-based solutions to complex business requirements
  • Power Platform 
    • Lead design sessions and make appropriate judgments in designing line of business solutions using out of the box product features, custom development and/or use of third-party tools
    • Build Canvas apps using out of the box connectors to access data in SharePoint and SQL Server
    • Develop custom connectors for Canvas applications (data, logic, etc.)
    • Train, implement and customize Dynamics 365 applications
    • Design Dataverse Models
    • Configure security, forms, views, business rules in Dataverse
    • Build Model-Driven apps
    • Develop custom Plugin’s, workflows and Power Automate Flows
    • Use Visual Studio, C# and .Net framework to develop custom Plugins, APIs and custom actions
    • Build data integrations and migrations using SSIS, KingswaySoft and Azure Data Factory

Basic Qualifications:

  • A degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum three years relevant working experience including expertise in enterprise implementations as well as solution deployment and/or distributed system implementation and relational productivity applications.
  • Knowledge of current development trends
  • Fundamental understanding of Microsoft Azure PaaS products
  • Experience creating solution architectures which integrate with existing software platforms and business processes
  • Experience using Azure DevOps for code repository, task management and deployment of solutions
  • Power Platform
    • Minimum three years of professional experience implementing Power Platform solutions on the Microsoft 365 platform.
    • Minimum one year of professional experience implementing and customizing Dynamics 365 applications
    • Minimum three years of professional experience with system design for large scale implementations is required including line of business PowerApps Solutions
    • Minimum three years of professional experience with Microsoft development technologies including SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, SharePoint, Office, Active Directory, C#, .NET, JavaScript, HTML5 and jQuery
    • Experience with 3rd party products or technologies such as KingswaySoft, XRMToolBox
    • Minimum year experience building complex canvas applications with SharePoint or database connections
    • Minimum one year of professional experience with Power Platform integration such as web hooks, PowerAutomate, Plugin’s, data flows or custom APIs
  • Power BI
    • Minimum three years of professional experience creating advanced Microsoft Power BI reports and dashboards, setup and implementation of the Power BI service and enterprise governance of the platform-- Power BI Service and Premium
    • Minimum three years of professional experience in data storage, query and reporting optimization
    • Minimum three years of professional experience with development and successful delivery of solutions in Microsoft’s Cloud data stack including SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, SQL Data Warehouse, Synapse Analytics
    • Minimum three years of professional experience with development and successful delivery of data solutions using one or more of the following languages – Python, R, Java, Ruby

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience using XRMToolKit, PostMan, Fiddler third party products
  • Experience with data and document migration.
  • Knowledge of creating custom connectors.
  • Knowledge of Power Virtual Agent.
  • Knowledge of Power Apps AI builder.
  • Knowledge of creating and deploying PCF Controls

Professional Licenses/Certifications Preferred:

  • Exam PL-900: Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals
  • Exam AZ-900: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals
  • Exam PL-100: Microsoft Power Platform App Maker
  • Exam PL-200: Microsoft Power Platform Functional Consultant
  • Exam PL-400: Microsoft Power Platform Developer
