In order to further enable our business success, Keysight IT has launched numerous initiatives to transform our current hybrid Windows platform to a cloud-native environment and we are seeking a highly motivated individual to drive these efforts with us.

In your position as Windows Platform & Automation Engineer you will be instrumental in implementing our planned Windows OS image hub, you will be building platform related automations and service improvements using Powershell inside our DEX tool Nexthink, as well as maintaining and bringing forward our technical infrastructure to ensuring our users have the best possible experience with their Windows devices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement a CI/CD OS Image Hub: Leverage Ansible and our internal infrastructure to build a CI/CD pipeline to continuously generate latest OS images for various RnD needs (e. g. ephemeral VMs). Collaborate with our Linux Desktop platform team and help the team to offer customized Linux images.
  • Develop and code automation solutions: Leverage our DEX solution Nexthink to expand our repository of Powershell-based automations and script library that we run on our endpoints. Work with various business stakeholders to boost internal Nexthink adoption and help to expand Ansible adoption within the Windows team.
  • Expand Cloud footprint: Refine our existing cloud-based device re-imaging process, expand to new hardware platforms; modernize & automate base OS image maintenance
  • Identify process improvements: Deliver value to every user by improving the user experience as well as drive down our ticket resolution time. Conduct ticket deep dives, communicate appropriately to internal and external customers, and develop strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Security collaboration: Work with our Information Security and Compliance team to maintain best in class security solutions for the Windows platform.
  • Serviceability: Manage process for communicating outage/emergency activities to the organization. Manage vendor relationships as it depends on daily operational needs.
  • SCRUM: Cultivate and own the strategic platform backlog together with our Windows Product Owner to deliver on employee productivity and user experience.

Qualifications

  • Deep Windows Operating System and OS image knowledge (Windows Autopilot, Intune, OS image creation & driver injection).
  • Ansible skills is a big plus - if missing must be willing to learn Ansible/Ansible AWX and source code management (Git).
  • Experience in coding and/or scripting (such as Powershell and VB scripting, experience with REST/Graph APIs, or the like) to build platform automations and service improvements. Skills on DEX tools such as Nexthink is a plus.
  • Agile SCRUM experience and know-how on the Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket).
  • Strong problem solving and project/self-managing skills: Must be a self-starter, with an ability to work autonomously to take ownership in a results-focused culture and must feel comfortable in working remotely with a geographically disperse team.
  • Multi-tasking: Demonstrate the ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments, in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Excellent English verbal, written, communication and articulation skills.
