Title : Platform Engineer
Location Preference: Hybrid, Cluj; or Home Office, RO
We are seeking an enthusiastic, high energy Platform Engineer to join the team and help us build the next generation of NetProfiler and Flow Gateway products.
The Riverbed NetProfiler and Flow Gateway product family analyze millions of network flows every minute, saving the data in a highly optimized proprietary database and performing real-time analysis. Real-time analytics detect network operations and security anomalies to alert network administrators before customers are calling for help. With highly configurable dashboards and flexible traffic reporting capabilities, NetProfiler is a go-to network visibility tool for network managers at Fortune 500 companies around the world.
What You Will Do
- Maintain existing perl and python-based platform tools
- Build the next-gen platform management tooling with an eye toward modern deployment & orchestration methodologies
- Assist in the design and configuration of new hardware platforms, including adding hardware support and performance testing
- Provide an escalation point to Customer and Sales engineering to assist in identifying and troubleshooting platform related bugs
- Assist in maintaining NetProfiler and Flow Gateway build and security scanning systems
What Makes You An Ideal Candidate
- Experience creating offerings for the Azure or AWS Marketplaces
- 2+ years of experience in a software development or DevOps environment
- Experience with Unix/Linux system administration of a RedHat Enterprise Linux or derivative, specifically RPM spec files, systemd, and software RAID
- Kernel or C++ software development and troubleshooting, ability to analyze core or system dumps and use them to diagnose root cause
- Software development experience with Perl, Python, and Bash
- Knowledge of Linux software packaging, building RPMs and software repositories
- Understanding of container technologies Podman and/or Docker
- Working knowledge of issue tracking & source code management tools such as Atlassian JIRA and git
- Experience working with or building RESTful APIs
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes or other container orchestration tools
