Index Analytics is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to support Government clients in the Baltimore and Washington D.C. Metro Area. The Test Automation Engineer will support the testing of an enterprise environment for a cloud-based platform. The enterprise instance will act as a portal that will allow users to access applications on the platform.
Responsibilities

Work in a Lean-Agile environment as a cross-functional team member developing and executing automated tests and performing manual tests.

Implementation of Automated Test implementation by adding repeatable quantitative measures for critical user and data paths. Quality measures include: Test coverage, functional testing and end-to-end testing, and performance and load testing

Participate in the analysis, design, and maintenance of test cases, test approaches, and test plans

Oversee and conduct manual functional testing, regression testing, and system integration testing, support user acceptance testing, and report issues found during the test life cycle

Develop consistent, reusable, and reliable methods for automated testing

Engineering, authoring, tuning, and documenting automation scripts in a development environment and deploying to test and production

Applying consistent, reusable, and reliable automated testing methods

Promoting code reuse and cross-program collaboration while reducing maintenance costs by creating common functions and shared actions for developers and testers

Executing system level tests using published procedures

Performing defect testing using ad-hoc or published procedures

Participate in all aspects of solution delivery life cycle including analysis, design, development, testing, production deployment, and support

Develop, implement, maintain, and enhance test plans, test scripts and test methodologies to ensure compliance with system specifications

Tester will also be responsible for delivering stable, tested code/configuration to production during release windows each month

This role requires careful coordination with the development team to ensure all bug fixes are checked in, each environment is stable and ready for use, customer communication is ongoing and open, and releases are properly tested, documented, and validated
Qualifications
Qualifications
- US citizen or Authorized to Work and lived in the US for 3 of the last 5 years. Must be able to obtain a U.S. Federal government client badge and pass a government Public Trust.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or relevant discipline required with a minimum of 4 years of experience OR a Master’s degree with 2 years of experience. Four years of specialized experience may substitute for a Bachelor’s degree.
- 5+ years IT experience, including three years of testing experience
- Demonstrated expertise in automating product quality checks and building quality via CI/CD strongly preferred
- Experience automating manual tests, environment setup, and deployment processes using technologies such as Jenkins, Salesforce metadata API, Python, or Provar (or similar selenium-based tool)
- Experience maintaining test results and regularly reporting on test effectiveness including test performance, bugs found
- Proficient and swift with scripting and must have advanced writing and testing skills using automation principals strongly preferred
- Must possess strong knowledge and understanding of systems engineering principals, including system design and architecture, software interface definition and control, software integration, and test.
- Ability to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication required
- Prior experience with Centers for Medicare Medicaid Services or other Govt agencies is a plus
The salary range provided represents the estimated compensation for new hires in this position, applicable across all locations. Actual offers may vary based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and market conditions.
