Position Overview
A recruiter is responsible for attracting, sourcing, and evaluating candidates for job openings within an organization. They manage the entire hiring process, from posting job listings and conducting interviews to negotiating offers and ensuring a positive candidate experience. Recruiters also build talent pipelines and ensure compliance with employment regulations.
Responsibilities
- Collaborating with department heads and hiring managers to determine the skills, qualifications, and experience required for open positions.
- Creating job descriptions and posting them on various job boards, company websites, and social media platforms to attract potential candidates.
- Actively searching for candidates through various channels like job portals, social media, employee referrals, and recruitment agencies.
- Reviewing resumes and cover letters to identify qualified candidates based on job requirements.
- Interviewing candidates over the phone, via video conferencing, or in person to assess their skills, qualifications, and cultural fit.
- Maintaining regular communication with candidates, keeping them informed about the status of their applications, and ensuring a positive candidate experience.
- Scheduling interviews with hiring managers and ensuring that all stakeholders are well-prepared.
- Evaluating candidates’ skills, experience, and overall fit for the company through various assessment methods, such as tests or reference checks.
- Working with HR and hiring managers to extend offers, negotiate salaries, and discuss other terms of employment, such as benefits and work arrangements.
- Assisting new hires with the onboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization.
- Managing and updating recruitment databases and applicant tracking systems (ATS) to keep track of candidates and hiring progress.
- Preparing reports on recruitment metrics such as time-to-hire, cost-per-hire, and candidate satisfaction to assess the effectiveness of recruitment efforts.
- Promoting the organization’s culture and values to attract top talent and improve its reputation as a desirable place to work.
- Ensuring that recruitment practices comply with legal regulations and company policies, such as diversity and equal opportunity employment.
- Building and maintaining relationships with potential candidates for future job openings, especially for hard-to-fill or high-demand positions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or another related field (Required).
- 2+ years of experience in a recruiter or talent acquisition role (Required).
- 2+ years of experience in customer service, sales, or other roles requiring strong communication, persuasion, and negotiation skills (Required).
- Any experience with Paycor Recruiting (Preferred).
