Job description

Position Overview
The Imaging Systems Administrator’s role is to manage Enterprise Content Management (ECM) systems to ensure a high level of availability and security of the supported business applications. This individual also participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. This role will continuously evaluate current and emerging strategies.
Position Location & Work Format
This position is flexible in its location! We will entertain candidates who reside within our six-state territory (Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, or Illinois) to work a remote schedule. Candidates residing within the greater Hastings, Michigan area will be able to work a hybrid (combination of on-site and work-from-home) schedule as an alternative. Generally, this position will work within our standard office hours of Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Hastings Insurance may consider candidates in other states to work remotely if elements of their application are strong. 
Position Duties & Responsibilities
  • Participates in and supports capacity planning and the development of long-term strategic goals for ECM systems and software in conjunction with end-users and department managers.
  • Installs, designs, configures, supports, and maintains ECM software and scanning hardware as directed.
  • Anticipates, mitigates, identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves hardware and software problems on servers, scanners, and workstations.
    • Escalates incidents as necessary.
  • Manages ECM end-user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations in accordance with best practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Analyzes ECM system, servers, application, network, and input/output device performance.
  • Creates required reports in response to business user needs.
  • Develops, documents, and maintains policies, procedures and associated training plans for system administration and appropriate use.
  • Manages application configuration and performs system upgrades.
    • Performs unit testing and resolves defects to ensure quality solutions are delivered.
  • Supports QA testing efforts.
  • Proposes solutions to improve business processes and efficiency related to ECM systems.
  • Provides on-call support as necessary.
  • Assists Technology Services with LAN and PC issues related to ECM applications as needed.
  • Actively participates in professional development, i.e. continuing education or self-improvement.Other duties as assigned by leadership, either verbally or in writing.

Candidate Requirements & Qualifications
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science is preferred and/or IT certifications in current ECM technologies.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of OnBase, Kofax, and OPEX, including workflow configuration and application integration.
  • Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience documenting and maintaining configuration and process information.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of database concepts, client/server concepts, and scripting languages.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Demonstrated excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Adept at reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to conduct research into hardware and software issues and products as required.
  • Ability to present ideas and solutions in user-friendly language.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed with keen attention to detail.
  • Skilled at working within a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
