About the Role:

The Account Director is a senior member of the team building strong, trusting relationships with clients by ensuring excellence in delivery, clear communication, and sound strategic guidance. We are seeking an individual who has the experience, knowledge and credibility to engage with pharma Medical Affairs teams as well as Commercial teams and the ability to identify learning gaps, pro-actively suggest innovative, strategic solutions and liaise effectively directly with medics and other HCPs. You will be the link between the customer and the Company.

Essential Job functions

Including, but not limited to the following:

  • A strong science background coupled with proven commercial acumen
  • Develop a deep understanding of the business needs of clients and drive benefit-led partnerships with them
  • Manage a portfolio of commercial and medical education opportunities in conjunction with the Director of Strategic Accounts, gaining an in-depth understanding of the challenges facing clinicians, the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries and how M3 can help them.
  • Establish and maintain excellent relationships with customers through regular close contact, including face-to-face meetings, telephone and e-mail communication.
  • Potential to take sole responsibility for generating revenue in a small portfolio of opportunities with a combined target of up to £150K.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the current drug launch landscape.
  • Work with the Director of Strategic Accounts where appropriate to develop and maintain education account plans for each customer.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure that the Customer is receiving the highest level of service and excellent delivery of education campaigns.
  • Actively discuss opportunities within the team to increase the services offered to your portfolio, increasing the revenue generated from it.
  • Gather, monitor and analyse campaign performance data, providing detailed and useful and meaningful information back to the customer.
  • Responsible for generating awareness within clients, of developing capabilities of M3.
  • Responsible for representing M3 as a delegate at relevant exhibitions, conferences etc.

Qualifications

Ideal Candidate

  • At least 3-4 years’ experience as an Account Manager
  • A strong interest in medical education and the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proven commercial awareness and understanding.
  • Proven ability of building strong professional relationships and surpassing expectations.
  • Experience in managing campaigns, co-ordinating team members, developing timetables and setting deadlines to achieve objectives.
  • Excellent communication, report writing, analytical and project management skills
  • Experience of and passion for presenting to customers at a senior management level
  • Experience in developing strategies and formulating proposals for clients
  • Experience of managing accounts and relationships for multiple customers.
  • A biosciences degree (or PhD).
