Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Business Program Manager is the primary point of contact in overseeing and managing multiple business programs and projects within the enterprise. This role requires hands-on leadership of business analysts and project managers. This person will also be responsible for the planning, execution, and delivery of projects on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in insurance business analysis and/or IT project management, excellent leadership abilities, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage business analysts and project managers in the analysis, planning, execution, and delivery of projects and programs from initiation to completion.
  • Create, maintain, and review business process models, data flows, and business requirements.
  • Provide hands-on support and guidance to project team members,
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts, departmental managers, and developers to document requirements, define scope of work, prioritize business objectives, and document project initiatives.
  • Collaborate with IT to ensure that projects follow the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with IT in the development or testing to ensure smooth deployment and integration of releases are aligned with project goals and timelines.
  • Utilize Azure DevOps (ADO) for managing project and program tasks, tracking progress and reporting.
  • Prepare and maintain program documentation, including project plans, status reports, release notes and program reviews.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, issues and mitigation strategies to ensure objectives.
  • Conduct regular status meetings and updates to stakeholders.
  • Manage resources across projects ensuring that team members are effectively utilized.
  • Continuously improve project management processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Performs other related duties and activities as required.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

The individual must meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in business analysis, project/program management, preferably with a P&C insurance carrier.
  • Previous leadership experience with Business Analysts and Project Managers
  • Strong knowledge of program and project management methodologies, particularly the Agile approach.
  • Experience with MS PowerPoint, Visio, Azure DevOps (ADO), and SharePoint preferred.
  • Familiarity with BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, etc. for data insights, modelling and visualization.
  • Strong knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and its various stages.
  • Knowledge and experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) for project management and tracking preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Property and Casualty Insurance domain preferred.
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Sound decision making, analysis and judgement skills.

Compensation$130,000 - $135,000
