Position Summary

TaxAct is seeking a Senior Product Manager responsible for owning business objectives and driving the complete product life-cycle strategy, ensuring high-quality delivery of new products and enhancements. This role defines the product roadmap based on customer needs, business objectives, customer journey mapping, customer experience, merchandising insights, and technology trends in support of the overall TaxAct product strategy. The Senior Product Manager inspires a cross-functional Product Team of designers, engineers, and other partners to start with deep customer empathy, enabling rapid hypothesis testing and the delivery of innovative solutions that enhance the customer experience.


Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Promote a customer-focused environment to deliver innovative products and services.
  • Demonstrated leadership in establishing and evangelizing a vision of success, as well as the objectives and key results needed to achieve it.
  • Lead the ideation, experimentation, and development of customer experiences, including journey mapping and merchandising strategies, for TaxAct.
  • Own the product roadmap, prioritizing work, and making appropriate trade-offs.
  • Leverage and analyze data to uncover insights, evaluate customer experience, and assess product performance.
  • Identify opportunities through market trends, customer insights, competitive analysis, and merchandising trends.
  • Strong collaborator who facilitates and leads across teams of UX/UI, engineering, design, marketing, and other stakeholders.
  • Communicate with impact and clarity across all levels of the organization –team, peers, stakeholders, and senior leaders.
  • Partner with legal, compliance, and other stakeholders to understand constraints and distill requirements.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5-7 years of Product Management experience in a software company, financial services company, or equivalent.
  • Proven history of delivering customer-driven products as a Senior Product Manager, with demonstrated experience in customer journey mapping, customer experience enhancement, and merchandising strategies.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills, with the ability to evolve product strategy based on research, data, and industry trends.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently under time and management pressures.
  • Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Resourceful, team player, high energy, and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Desire to stay current with the latest technologies and best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing the Design Thinking method.
