Job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Data Engineer with a strong background in AWS and big data technologies to join our remote team. This pivotal role will involve leveraging your expertise in cloud-based data storage and processing to develop innovative solutions that drive our data initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement data models at both conceptual and logical levels.
  • Develop and maintain cloud-based applications utilizing core AWS services, including Amazon Redshift and AWS Glue.
  • Collaborate with an agile development team to analyze requirements and propose effective solutions within the AWS environment.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations through effective communication and coordination with onsite teams to ensure timely delivery of quality deliverables.

Required Skills

  • Over 5 years of experience in cloud-based big data storage and processing, particularly with tools such as S3, AWS Glue, and Apache Spark.
  • Proficiency in both SQL and NoSQL data structures, with hands-on experience in developing and debugging AWS applications.
  • Strong understanding of AWS architecture best practices and data modeling techniques, including Star schema and Snowflake schema.
  • Good command of Oracle and PL/SQL, with exposure to Informatica and AWS Integration.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Cloud Development and Migration focusing on AWS, Analytics, and Data Warehousing.
  • At least 1 year of experience with Oracle/PL SQL and ETL tools such as Informatica.
  • An undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience is required.
