Senior Director of Finance and Accounting

About The Role

We are in search of an accomplished and visionary Senior Director of Finance and Accounting to spearhead our finance and accounting operations in a fully remote capacity. This pivotal role is based in Salt Lake City, UT, and offers the unique opportunity to drive substantial contributions to our expanding organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic financial plans that are in harmony with our company's vision, emphasizing profitable growth, market expansion, and optimal product/channel diversification.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process alongside long-term financial forecasting, providing ongoing performance assessments and pinpointing opportunities for enhancement.
  • Supervise the preparation of financial statements, reports, and analytical assessments, ensuring adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Recognize and manage financial risks and opportunities, implementing effective strategies to safeguard assets and leverage market potential.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on pivotal initiatives and investment analyses, fostering business growth.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for our parent company regarding all ad hoc reporting, valuation, audit, and tax inquiries.
  • Mentor, manage, and develop the finance and accounting team, promoting professional advancement and cross-departmental cooperation.
  • Oversee the financial audit process, ensuring compliance with legal, state, regulatory, and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Partner with external entities to guarantee timely and precise state, federal, and international income tax filings, along with state and local sales tax/VAT obligations.
  • Assist sales operations, planning, and forecasting, as well as inventory and supply/demand planning as needed.
  • Conduct financial analysis to inform pricing strategies, strategic planning scenarios, and various business needs.
  • Cultivate and sustain robust relationships with the parent company, ensuring seamless communication concerning all financial affairs.
  • Contribute to high-level strategy discussions with executives, providing insights into long-term economic and financial trends and their implications for future growth, sales, and market share.
  • Embody the company culture and values, fostering effective communication across all organizational levels.
  • Incorporate social and environmental considerations into daily decision-making, inspiring team members to follow suit.
  • Advocate for company and employee initiatives that reflect our commitment to both people and the planet.

About You

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in finance or accounting, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range business planning, with advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Proficiency with Prophix and NetSuite (ERP) is mandatory.
  • Experience in industries related to baby gear, soft goods, and hard goods is preferred.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or possess authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
