QDI is currently expanding its presence in the UK, Ireland and Nordics Bioinformatics market.  We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Bioinformatics Sales Specialist with a focus on the clinical and diagnostic market to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales and market penetration of our cutting-edge Bioinformatics products and solutions within the region, specifically within the clinical and diagnostic sectors. The role involves working closely with Sales, Marketing & Scientific Support teams to achieve sales targets, establish and strengthen relationships, and promote our products across Pharma, Biotech, CRO, Hospital/Medical and other market segments.

The Clinical Sales Specialist will be responsible for sales activity related to the successful outreach, development, and closure for Bioinformatics products across the territory. As a Clinical Sales Specialist, you must be customer centric, understanding customer purchasing processes and providing onsite customer presentation, training and pre-and post-sales support.  You will be expected to maintain and communicate a high level of market and product knowledge and to aid the advancement of product development strategy and marketing activities, aligning with company strategy.

Key responsibilities

- Drive sales of QIAGEN’s Clinical Bioinformatics portfolio, primarily to clinical genomics labs, to exceed sales targets. Demonstrate a ‘hunter-style’ sales approach focused on lead generation and prospecting.

- Act as field expert on the clinical Bioinformatics portfolio. Using technical and market knowledge, customer focus and sales skills to generate, nurture and close complex sales opportunities within multi-layered customer decision making environment.

- Establish sales projects with key customer labs to utilize as references for growth market portfolio. 

- Manage and close renewals of current business in a timely manner to drive regional clinical sales, working collaboratively  with Marketing, Sales, Sales Development and Support.

- Qualify new customers in sales funnel to move forward in the sales process. Utilize customer management database to build and monitor sales as well as regional forecasting and planning.

- Coordinate, attend and present at regional conferences. 

Position Requirements

- Scientific degree (ideally M.Sc. and/or Ph.D) in Molecular Biology, Genetic Counselling, Human Genetics or related fields, with minimum 3 years’ lab experience within clinical genetics or bioinformatics.

- Regional regulatory knowledge regarding assessing, scoring and reporting variant results would be ideal.

- Previous commercial experience within a related field is preferred. Strong sales aptitude is a minimum.  

- Strong knowledge of/ experience with NGS technologies, applications, and markets.

- Fluency in English, written and spoken. Fluency in a Nordic languages is highly desirable but not essential.

- Based in the UK, preferably with access to a major international airport, with the ability to travel unhindered within UK/ Ireland/ EMEA up to 60% (will have a primary responsibility for the UK, Ireland and Nordic countries).
