JOB DESCRIPTION FOR A CONTENT DIRECTOR

Your Responsibilities as a Content Director:

• Develop and implement comprehensive content strategies aligned with organizational goals and target audience preferences.
• Oversee the entire content creation process, from ideation to publication, ensuring consistency in messaging, tone, and style across all channels.
• Lead and mentor a team of writers and designers, providing guidance, feedback, and support to foster their professional growth and maximize their potential.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, design, and product development, to align content efforts with overall business objectives.
• Manage the production of marketing materials, including but not limited to website content, blog posts, social media posts, email campaigns, and printed collateral.
• Ensure that all content is optimized for search engines (SEO) and adheres to best practices for accessibility and usability.
• Monitor and analyze content performance metrics, using insights to refine strategies and improve content effectiveness.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in content development and marketing to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
• Collaborate with external partners, such as agencies and freelancers, as needed to supplement internal capabilities and resources.
• Uphold brand standards and guidelines across all content assets, ensuring a cohesive and compelling brand presence.


Qualifications as a Content Director:

• Content Development and Content Strategy skills
• Must have 5 years or more experience with content management systems
• Must have 1 year experience with project management experience
• Excellent Writing skills for different styles and formats
• Marketing skills, especially related to digital marketing
• Latest SEO best practice skills
• Knowledge of AI Tools
• Magento (adding products, CSV load etc)
• Prior experience in leading content teams (mentoring and setting content calendars)
• Have managed freelancers in the past
