Job description

Salary: £40k-£50k based on experience, a fully maintained company car, plus allowances

Location: Home-based, with travel to customer locations across the UK

The opportunity:

This is an exciting opportunity to work within our Zurich Resilience Solutions Workforce Strategies Practice business as a Health & Safety Risk Consultant. It is an ideal role for Health and Safety risk professional with a broad range of experience who is looking for a new and exciting challenge. In this role the successful candidate will enjoy a varied, challenging and rewarding diet of work, a great deal of autonomy and they will benefit from working with an experienced and high performing team.

This role is available part-time, job-share or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time.

What will you be doing?

  • Deliver Health & Safety risk consultancy to our customers.
  • Development of our risk consultancy business and customer proposition.
  • Commercial acumen, business development skills and an ability to spot opportunities to support our customers and the development of business opportunities in relation to the growth of fee income.
  • Marketing of our risk consultancy service through events, social media campaigns and other industry events
  • Develop and support the relationships and risk profile improvement for a significant portfolio of major customers.
  • Produce high quality professional reports, providing best practice advice to customers.
  • Complete research into technical areas and provide up to date information for colleagues, other stakeholders, and customers.
  • To support and enhance our Group Underwriting and customer propositions.
  • To deliver training courses and presentations to our customers and stakeholders

What are we looking for?

  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent and proven practical hands-on experience
  • CMIOSH, CIRM, or other equivalent professional qualification and evidence of continued professional development is advantageous.

Your Experience

  • Health and Safety Consultant experience
  • Business Development skills and commercial acumen
  • Knowledge of current and emerging liability related risks and knowledge of relevant legislation and its application in an occupational environment
  • Awareness of the principles and practices of the insurance industry, relevant to the role
  • Able to review risks, suitability of controls and systems and carry out detailed gap analysis and offer advice and potential solutions.
  • An enquiring mind with the ability to probe logically to establish the key exposures, common controls and analyse deficiencies with an ability to explain and articulate the business case for risk management to our customers.
  • Coaching stakeholders and leaders on best practice risk management to drive a culture of continual improvement.
  • Advanced communication skills, developing strong relationships with customers, and stakeholders, identifying opportunities for future business.
  • A dedicated team player with a “can-do” approach to their work
