In this role as a Partner Solutions Engineer,  you will be responsible for providing technical expertise across cross-functional Partnership programs, supporting several stakeholder teams. You will represent Affirm’s engineering team and technologies to partners, such as Stripe, while helping drive technical + business strategy. This role entails operational support for ad hoc partner requests, collaborating with engineering teams on solution design, and managing the execution of long-term initiatives. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering a culture of engineering excellence and innovation, unafraid to roll up their sleeves with engineers with a proven track record of delivering results. 

 

What you’ll do

  • Provide day to day support for technical questions from external partner stakeholders

  • Contribute to the development of project plans by assisting with solution design, timeline forecasting, task break-down, and testing strategy

  • Develop integration support material and documentation for new product rollouts and feature upgrades

  • Serve as SME and point of escalation for internal and external teams facing technical challenges

  • Maintain clear, professional, and proactive communication with external partners to ensure alignment on goals, timelines, and deliverables, while fostering strong, long-term relationships

  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure seamless coordination, share insights, and drive projects to successful completion while maintaining open and constructive communication

  • Provide feedback on integration strategy, potential product enhancements, and operational workflows

 

What we look for

  • 2+ years experience in a Solutions Engineering, Partner Engineering, Sales Engineering, Technical Account Management, Solutions Architecture, or any other customer-facing engineering role

  • Ability to read and understand multiple programming languages

  • Basic understanding of JSON, HTML, REST API, and Webhook technologies

  • Experience with Ecommerce technologies and data models

  • Experience with SQL or other database languages. 

  • Experience with alerting and monitoring tools and applications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong project management skills, capable of influencing internal and external stakeholders to stay on schedule

  • Passion and drive to change consumer banking for the better


Pay Grade - J
Equity Grade - 3

Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills. 

Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents). In addition, the employees may be eligible for equity rewards offered by Affirm Holdings, Inc. (parent company).

CAN base pay range per year: $102,000 - $142,000
