The Commercial division is Allianz Australia’s largest distribution channel whose customers include local, national and international brokers, and buying groups throughout Australia. We’re seeking a Senior Account Manager to report to the Distribution Manager in NSW and help develop best in market relationships with an allocated panel of brokers.

 

You'll be responsible for

  • Developing and managing relationships with your broker panel, delivering sales and service excellence, including collaborating with Underwriting on the delivery and negotiation of underwriting solutions.
  • Helping implement strategic projects to enhance sales capability, ensuring activities are following divisional and organizational focus areas and targeted outcomes.
  • Performing effective pipeline management to maximize new business strike rates and renewal retention to drive customer growth in preferred segments.
  • Supporting the implementation of sales/go-to-market strategy and business plans to deliver effective and efficient sales operations and to achieve profitable growth targets across the allocated panel.
  • Displaying market-leading sales behaviours demonstrated by using CRM to monitor and develop relationships, single sales, scheme, and whole-of-account opportunities.
  • Gaining in-depth broker insight and finding alignment to grow Allianz areas of appetite.
  • Identifying market and industry trends, understanding, and anticipating customer needs through business relationships and competitor analysis.
  • Acting as a point of escalation for broker requests on commercial adjustments, issues, or complaints, evaluating available information and facilitating effective resolution.
  • Participating actively in team meetings and activities and positively contributing to a high-performance culture.
  • Developing and fulfilling a sales plan to achieve financial metrics, retention, target conversions, and strike rates against developed and well-managed plans.

 

About you

  • Experience in the commercial lines of business is required; applicants from an underwriting, account management or broking background would all be considered.
  • Strategic sales ability including business planning, negotiation skills and the ability to influence and persuade.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm and ability to optimise business value to customers by delivering high quality services and positive customer experiences to sustain and enhance the customer base.
  • Ability to identify potential issues, evaluate information, exercise judgement, and create customer-focused solutions.
  • Able to plan and prioritise, organise tasks and manage competing resources and demands.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating and presenting with clarity, impact, and influence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with diverse team members towards a common goal.
