Wholesale Sales Representative for Specialty Retailers
(Based in Los Angeles, remote is a possibility for ideal candidate)
A Los Angeles based jewelry wholesale company is seeking a full-time Sales Representative to manage and grow established and new regional retailer accounts in the specialty sales channel. Individual to be centrally located and travel to New York or Los Angeles as needed. Individuals with retail buying or merchandising experience at national chains are preferred. Previous experience in the jewelry or fashion accessories industry is needed. Experience in setting up and growing ecommerce marketplaces is a plus.
Qualifications:
Must have experience with national or regional retail department stores, in addition to the specialty sales channel or ecommerce marketplaces.
Strong understanding of retail math (gross margins, mark-ups, inventory turns, sell-thru).
Ability to organize and analyze raw data in Microsoft Excel (proficient user).
Strong communication skills, negotiation skills, attention to detail and accuracy.
Must be extremely organized, responsive, and reliable and able to thrive in fast-paced environment.
Experience establishing relationships with retailers or vendors is a must
Responsibilities:
Develop a deep understanding of each account: customer profile, brands, retail pricing, issues, opportunities, vendor landscape and retailer competition.
Take ownership of assigned accounts and maintain full accountability for sustaining and growing each account.
Visit accounts regularly, travel to the New York showroom quarterly, travel to Los Angeles headquarters as needed.
Develop merchandise assortments and strategies for growth and identify voids to fill for existing accounts.
Participate in product development as it relates to assigned accounts - make recommendations specific to each account regarding product, packaging, pricing and retail floor placement.
Up-to-date knowledge of jewelry market trends and competitive strategies.
Review selling reports regularly and discuss with buyers, make recommendations.
Work with operations department on placing new orders received - stay involved for each order until shipped.
