Job description

About the role. 

The Claims Learning and Development Specialist will be responsible for designing, creating and facilitating training content in alignment with the training curriculum for our claims adjusters. This individual will work closely with our Claims LOB leaders, Quality Assurance, Compliance, Systems and other HO Claims Operations leaders to translate our claim handling strategies into information that can be easily digested and executed upon by our staff. We expect that often they will support delivery of the training, while other times they may facilitate or co-facilitate. They will also be responsible for supporting onboarding. This Specialist will report to the Director of Claims Learning and Development and be part of the HO Claims Support Team.  

 

What you’ll do. 

  • Design and develop effective, aesthetically pleasing, and engaging instructor-led presentations, online courses, videos, job aids, and other learning content as appropriate.   

  • Consult with internal subject matter experts from technical and business backgrounds to help develop, review, and refine educational material.  

  • Apply instructional design and adult learning principles to produce informative and highly engaging content ranging from technical claims skills to cross-functional competencies.   

  • Ensure deliverables are on time and meet quality standards.  

  • Ensure senior leadership and managers understand how their staff will be impacted by change and validate the training that is designed and delivered is in line with their expectations.  

  • Partner with other members of the Learning and Development team to ensure cross-functional learning needs are met.  

 

What we’re looking for. 

  • 2+ years of claims experience. 2+ years of property adjusting experience is a plus. 

  • 1+ years of learning and development experience 

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.  

  • Proven ability to translate complex concepts into easy-to-understand content and learning journeys.   

  • Experience developing content using authoring and design tools (e.g. Articulate Storyline 2, Captivate, Camtasia, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)  

  • Detail oriented, with a keen eye for quality   

  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).  

  • Strong team player who is a role model of PURE principles 

  • A history of demonstrating professional maturity and sound judgment.  

  • Ability to work well with leaders at all levels of the organization. 

  • Ability to share relevant work samples. 

  • Some travel will be required. 

The base salary for this role can range from $65K - $75K, based on a full-time work schedule. An individual’s ultimate compensation will vary depending on job-related skills and experience, geographic location, alignment with market data, and equity among other team members with comparable experience.
