Position Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations for the NU Nurse Managed Clinic, managing all clinic site locations where care is provided, to include the site locations in Los Angeles and San Diego. This includes overseeing the ongoing implementation and use of the Electronic Health Record System Practice Fusion, monitoring remote telemetric findings of patient biometric data, ensuring efficient and effective clinic flow, providing support and back up for the advanced practice nurses, community health administration coordinator I, and collaborates with the NU JFK School of Psychology and Social Services in managing MSW students. The Project Manager participates in the online training of faculty and students in simulated settings designed to support person-centered care. This full-time, grant-funded position reports to the Senior Director, Community Affairs in Health working closely with the collaborating physician(s); faculty coordinator; project evaluator; chairs of the departments of health sciences, healthcare leadership and nursing; and nurse faculty and preceptors overseeing student clinical practice. The Project Manager co-authors research publications and reports related to clinic outcomes; collects the data for the federal Uniform Data System; and interfaces directly with community leaders, social service agencies and community-based organizations to launch additional community site locations.
Essential Functions:
- Manage and support daily clinic operations.
- Respond to day-to-day clinic operations needs including addressing patient concerns and questions as relevant, supporting troubleshooting and clinic flow solutions in the moment, and developing systems and processes that minimize disruptions to patient care and clinic flow.
- Lead efforts to ensure efficient and effective clinic flow, including clinic hours, and patient appointments.
- Manage the development, implementation and enforcement of policies, procedures, operational systems, and other processes within the clinic.
- Ensure clinical operations meet standards for cultural competency.
- Manage the clinic schedule in collaboration with the advanced practice nurses.
- Create and maintain provider schedules in Practice Fusion.
- Stay informed on clinic best practices and current health information trends by reading health information and community health practice journals, attending seminars and conferences as funding permits.
- Work closely with the project evaluator in the maintenance of quarterly data collection processes for annual reports.
- Support billing processes to ensure clinic staff meet insurance credentialing requirements.
- Ensure that all clinical performance evaluation tools are up to date and that evaluations occur annually including patient experience surveys, social determinants of health standardized instruments, and patient screening tools.
- Implement effective processes and practices that support patient revenue budget goals, efficiency and productivity standards and overall clinic functioning as set by the Director, Community Affairs in Health, and the Community Advisory Board.
- Communicate effectively with staff, providers and clients.
- Participate in community outreach and community health fair events.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Maintain current knowledge of professional licensing and scope of practice requirements.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervisory and managerial responsibilities include all clinically based staff, including the social worker, community health worker, and advanced practice nurses.
- Responsible for approving timecards and leave for clinically based staff.
- Ensure there are sufficient staff to provide quality services and comply with professional standards.
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- Doctoral degree in healthcare or related field, preferred.
- Master of Science Degree in Nursing required.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a health care management and leadership role required.
- Current and unencumbered Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Certification and Licensure as a Registered Nurse required.
- Current and unencumbered California Furnishing number, NPI and current DEA registration number required.
- Hold and maintain current national and state board certification as a nurse practitioner from approved organization (American Nurses Credentialing Center, American Academy of Nurse Practitioner, National Certification Corporation for Obstetrics, Gynecologic and Neonatal Nursing Specialty) required.
- Show evidence of performing in a nurse faculty position preferred.

Travel: Travel up to 75% to ensure clinical practice consistency across all clinic locations.

Candidate receiving offers will be offered a salary/pay rate commensurate with experience that vary based on a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies. Absent exceptional circumstances, candidates will be offered a salary within this range for this position. The minimum salary will be offered based on the minimum exemption threshold based on state of residency. Compensation Range:
Annual Salary: $145,000.00 - $145,000.00
