Rooted in providing a wide array of financial products and bespoke capital solutions, as well as other non-financial training and technical assistance, this work includes connecting these primary market, community-based activities to the secondary/capital markets to better match community and small business needs with mission-aligned investor requirements and appetites.
Position Summary
Momentus Capital has ambitious goals of significantly increasing impact by driving more capital into communities across the country. In order for Momentus to achieve its goal of increasing loan and investment production 4x by 2030, Momentus Capital is seeking the Chief Strategy and Growth Officer to partner with the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to drive the company’s growth initiatives.
The Chief Strategy and Growth Officer (CSGO) will play a crucial role in driving the growth and expansion for Momentus Capital. The CSGO will partner with the CEO to identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships and market expansion opportunities. The CSGO will oversee strategic planning firmwide, marketing, fundraising and customer success to support Momentus Capital’s growth objectives.
This position reports directly to the CEO, and is a member of the executive management team. The CSGO will work collaboratively across the six product teams to identify opportunities, scale impact and the provision of knowledge, social and financial capital.
Requirements
Key Roles and Responsibilities
The CSGO will directly oversee the following functions with support from four (4) direct reports:
- Strategic Planning & Go to Market Strategy – Support the CEO with the oversight of the development of Momentus Capital strategy to drive revenue that optimize our current products. The process of developing, embedding, and monitoring Momentus Capital’s strategy and related key performance indicators (KPIs). Ensure effective communication and collaboration across all levels of the organization to drive alignment and accountability.
- Fundraising, Partnership Development and Partnership Success – In partnership with the CEO, oversee the development and management of key stakeholders who can accelerate the product team and organization’s growth.
- Marketing and Communications – Oversee Momentus Capital’s brand strategy, marketing and communication. Monitor and report on marketing performance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Impact Reporting and Management – Oversee the development of an impact philosophy, framework and reporting to effectively communicate Momentus’ impact in communities.

Education Requirements and Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, public policy, community development or related field preferred, MBA a plus
- 15+ years of experience in community development, finance, or consulting
- 10+ years of direct lending experience or financial institution experience
- 10+ years of management and senior leadership experience
- Proven experience overseeing a P&L function within a financial services organization
- Proven experience of effective strategic thinking, detailed planning and the ability to deliver to clear long-term objectives
- Demonstrated ability and experience advising and influencing executives, providing insights that lead to key decision making within the business
- Demonstrated track record in analyzing and quantifying complex strategic questions tied to the creation of stakeholder value
- Experienced with safeguarding the interests of the organization and ensuring a resilient business framework
- Experienced implementing risk management strategies, anticipating challenges, and devising contingency plans
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including Board members, senior executives, and external partners
- Monitor and analyze market trends and competitor activity
- Passion for mission-driven work and projects that support underserved communities in the United States
- Lead, develop, and retain a leadership team that embodies the corporate values and has the leadership and technical capability to deliver on Momentus Capital’s strategy
- Excellent verbal/written communication and analytical skills
- Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to communicate across diverse audiences within the organization
- Proficiency in Microsoft programs, (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Suite (i.e. Google Docs, and Sheets), and experience with data sets
Benefits
The salary range for this position is $250,000- $360,000 and is eligible for an annual incentive.
This role is eligible to work remotely.
