Position Summary

We are in search of a dedicated and skilled Senior Information Technology Project Manager/Scrum Master for a vital direct hire opportunity. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in ensuring our clients and public users can access actionable data and insightful information. By merging human-centered design principles with robust engineering techniques and a thorough grasp of data as a product, you will facilitate the dissemination of scientific knowledge efficiently and effectively, thereby enhancing our service delivery across various critical functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Mentor and coach a development team, steering them towards sprint objectives and facilitating successful project advancement.
• Implement Agile methodologies to address routine challenges and promote collaborative team dynamics.
• Utilize Agile tools to establish sustainable process enhancements, empowering your team to meet prioritized goals within established timelines.
• Supervise data visualization engineering, contributing to data visualization resources and developing custom visualizations.
• Construct data pipelines to ingest and convert data into assets suitable for visualization, publishing them on platforms such as data.cdc.gov and CDC WONDER.
• Manage resources, strategize for implementation, and monitor progress for public-facing data channel initiatives.
• Conduct user research, user experience design, interaction design, and information architecture across a variety of projects.
  
  

Required Skills

• Proficient in Agile software project management tools, notably JIRA.
• Comprehensive knowledge of project management frameworks and software development methodologies.
• Exceptional interpersonal capabilities for effective communication with clients, engineers, and management.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years' experience as a Scrum Master and/or Product Manager for Agile teams.
• Certification as a SAFe Practitioner or SAFe Agilist, alongside Certified Scrum Master (CSM) Certification.
• Proven ability to operate autonomously and efficiently with minimal supervision.
