Tax Manager - External Posting

Our CPA firm, located in Austin, TX, is looking to add a Tax Manager to our team. The Tax Manager role offers an opportunity to gain invaluable knowledge and insight by working directly with clients, attorneys, financial advisors, and our entire internal tax team and reporting directly to the Director of Tax Operations.

We are looking for individuals with integrity and a strong work ethic to join our fun and outgoing team! The position can be 100% remote, but we offer the opportunity to have an office in our downtown Austin location.

Job Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Reviewing tax returns (individual, trusts, corporations, and partnerships)
  • Manage Tax Preparers - senior accountant and staff accountant
  • Revenue and profitability accountability for Pod
  • Responsible for weekly accountability meetings and review processes for employees
  • Researching advanced tax topics
  • Working with clients in an advisory role
  • Consulting with new clients during initial calls
  • Assisting with responses to IRS and state agency tax notices
  • Attending weekly team meetings to review project status and goals

  • Works well with confidential client matters
  • Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism
  • Ability to ask the right questions
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5+ years of experience in public accounting required
  • CPA preferred
  • QuickBooks experience required
  • Thompson Reuters UltraTax experience is a plus

  • $115K - $160K (depending on experience)
