As part of the Digital Risk Security Operations team, the Senior Manager, Insider Threat and Data Protection will be instrumental in overseeing, managing, and maturing critical data protection capabilities within our Security Operations function, including data classification, data loss prevention, and forensics/investigations. They will also be responsible for providing thought leadership on securing the company against current and emerging insider threats and ensuring that our technology stack and capabilities are aligned to data protection best practices and emerging internal threats, all in support of our Digital Risk strategy. The ideal candidate for this role is able to provide leadership and mentoring to the team while working closely with them to mature our data protection strategy. They also have both technical expertise and experience, as well as communication and leadership skills to influence and seamlessly collaborate across multiple stakeholder groups. This role reports to the Director of Security Operations.

Where Is The Work

This is a Remote position. Work will be performed within Eastern Time Zone (EST)

What You Will Do

  • Provide management oversight to the team responsible for data protection/insider threat, including mentoring, coaching, and developing key talent.
  • Work with leadership to develop and implement a strategy for maturing our data protection and detection capabilities, ensuring alignment to our Digital Risk priorities.
  • Oversee design and continuous improvement of data protection solutions, such as data labelling, classification, data loss prevention, alert triage, case management, and related processes.
  • Oversee and assist with triaging and prioritizing insider threats within the organization.
  • Maintain governance over documentation and revise procedures, practices, and policies defining and supporting threat analysis and data protection as necessary.
  • Support the process of extracting and analyzing data to observe the behavior and activity of potential inside threats.
  • Work closely with the Incident Response team on detections requiring escalations.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders from IT, Legal, HR, or otherwise on investigations.
  • Report metrics and scorecards to measure effectiveness and efficiency the program.
  • Oversee administration, operation, configuration, and support of data protection tools.
  • Assist with management of departmental budget and vendor contracts, including conducting quarterly business reviews, capturing metrics, and reporting on KPIs to drive program improvements.
  • Serve as a key cybersecurity SME to advise other IT and Digital Risk team members.
  • Work closely with the Director, Security Operations, on strategic direction and continuous improvement of the function, including capability and maturity assessments and long-range planning, as well as evaluation of current and future-state toolsets and partnerships.

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, business administration, or similar discipline preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in working in cybersecurity and/or IT.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in field of Data Protection/Insider Threat.
  • Design and implementation experience with data labelling/classification and DLP tools strongly preferred.
  • Security certification such as SANS/GIAC, CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC, CGEIT or equivalent preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly technical skills and strong data protection experience.
  • Solid technical understanding of cybersecurity concepts, standards, guidelines, and principles
  • Demonstrated strategic and tactical thinking, along with decision-making skills and business acumen.
  • Strong organizational skills and proven ability to execute.
  • Ability to handle time-sensitive situations with a calm and serious attitude while maintaining an appropriate sense of urgency.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to promote ideas, collaborate, and influence without authority.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with ability to communicate effectively and work independently, both as part of and leading a global team.

Compensation

Base Salary: $160,000 - $220,000

Additional Compensation: Total compensation for this role also will include an incentive plan.
