Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Internal Audit Control Manager with extensive experience in mortgage servicing to join our dynamic team. In this fully remote position, you will be integral in ensuring adherence to federal, state, and government-sponsored enterprise (GSE) regulations, while reinforcing our dedication to quality assurance and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Continuously maintain and refine regulatory compliance matrices, ensuring precision through a systematic quarterly update process.
  • Offer compliance expertise during internal audits and other special initiatives.
  • Support audit teams in recognizing compliance coverage pertinent to assigned audit projects.
  • Formulate test steps for regulatory specifications as necessary.
  • Analyze regulatory audit findings and propose actionable solutions.
  • Stay abreast of compliance updates by participating in relevant meetings.
  • Conduct compliance training sessions tailored for departmental personnel.
  • Contribute to the yearly risk assessment and assist in achieving the annual audit plan for specified areas.
  • Supervise audit engagements, ensuring alignment with corporate policies and industry standards.
  • Cultivate robust relationships with business process owners and management teams.
  • Collaborate with audit colleagues to pinpoint emerging control challenges and communicate them promptly.
  • Play an active role in the development of team members and consistently analyze risk trends.
  • Aid in the creation and implementation of automation tools designed to enhance the audit process.

  • Demonstrated ability to forge relationships and operate both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, sound decision-making abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint, MS Project, PowerPoint, Visio).

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline is essential; a Master’s degree and/or professional certifications (such as CPA, CIA, CISA, CRCM, CAMS, or MBA) are highly regarded.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in internal audit and regulatory compliance, particularly within the mortgage servicing sector.
  • Proven capability to adapt to evolving environments and regulatory landscapes.
