Position Description: The Oracle Database Administrator, Senior creates, implements, and manages expansive database administration programs, reviews database performance trends, and identifies opportunities for improvement.
Minimum/General Experience: 5 years of experience with installation, maintenance, and administration of Oracle databases
Minimum Education: Bachelors' Degree in computer science, electronics engineering or related field
Essential Skills/Qualifications
- Excellent experience with installation, maintenance, and administration of Oracle
- Excellent experience configuring, integrating, patching, and securing Oracle database
- Strong ability to develop Data Definition Language (DDL) and Distributed Data Management (DDM) to support changes to Oracle tables
- Excellent experience with the development and maintenance of Logical and Physical database models
- Excellent experience actively developing PLSQL DDL, DDM scripts for large/complex data tables
- Excellent experience with supporting Linux, Solaris, and Windows systems engineering efforts in system design and evaluation, solution engineering, software development, or system administration
- Excellent experience with Database Schema as Code tools (e.g., Toad)
- Strong ability to design and develop complex SQL queries and reports to retrieve required data
- Excellent experience with database partitioning and microservices
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and the software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Excellent experience analyzing and tuning queries to improve performance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent team collaboration skills
- Experience with code reviews on SQL change sets and work with developers to create and enforce best practices (preferred)
- Knowledge to security scanning tools, configuring their use and working with teams to fix vulnerabilities (preferred)
- Experience with ETL and Data Warehousing methods (preferred)
- Experience with Replication technologies such as AWS DMS or Oracle Goldengate (preferred)

Tasks/activities Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Maintains one or more complex databases
- Analyzes the design, development, and delivery or implementation of data solutions, including architecture design, prototyping of concepts to proof of concept, analysis of the development of standards, design, and test plans, code, module design development and testing, data solution debugging, design and implementation of a solution that follows efficient design techniques, and development that meets and exceeds the intent of the design of the data solution
- Assists with the planning and engineering of the organization's databases
- Supports Linux systems engineering efforts
- Uses Database Schema as Code tools
- Utilizes database partitioning
- Utilizes microservices
- Writes complex SQL queries and reports to retrieved required data
- Uses the Agile methodology
- Provides support by collaborating with developers and project teams
- Diagnoses and troubleshoots database errors
- Recommends and implements emerging database technologies
- Resolves database performance issues using all available tools and take corrective actions when necessary
- Communicates with business customers, technical teams and management in a consistent manner making complex technical issues and solutions understandable
- Works with business teams to define requirements and translate to data
Compensation & Benefits: The annual projected pay range for this position is $57,399 - $156,541 with consideration being given to various factors including but not limited to qualifications, experience, job responsibilities, and geographic location.
