The Role
World Vision is looking for a Compensation Manager who will lead compensation and recognition programs in support of World Vision US’ business objectives. This new individual contributor role will help innovate and design the future of rewards at World Vision US.
We are looking for someone creative, collaborative, and well-versed in best practices for rewarding employees, ready to apply them in a faith-based context. The Compensation Manager will be responsible for planning, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the organization’s compensation and employee recognition programs. S/he will ensure related policies and procedures align with organizational objectives and legal requirements. Foundationally, s/he will carry out our Christian organization’s mission, vision, and strategies and personify the ministry of World Vision by witnessing to Christ and ministering to others through life, deed, word, and sign.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Keep Christ central in individual and corporate life. Actively participate in and contribute to the spiritual disciplines of the organization (Christian conduct, chapel, prayer, worship, devotions, and leadership of devotions); incorporate WV Core Values into decisions within scope of role.
Manage compensation programs:
- · Develop and maintain compensation policies, guidelines and procedures, recommending changes based on market trends, organization objectives, and regulatory requirements.
- · Develop and maintain job architecture including job leveling criteria, job descriptions, and career path documentation. Partner with HR Business Partner team to review requests for job catalog modifications to ensure alignment with organization’s talent management needs.
- · Participate in market compensation surveys and analyze benchmark data and trends to provide recommendations on salary structure adjustments, job grades, geographic differentials, and annual salary review budgets.
- · Present compensation and budget modeling scenarios, providing recommendations to senior level executives.
- · Administer salary review processes including employment offers, merit, executive pool, and promotion awards.
- · Train and educate managers and employees about compensation philosophy, policies, and procedures through various forms of communication, working with HR communications team to update intranet content, manager newsletter, etc.
- · Prepare internal/external reporting as needed.
Manage recognition programs:
- · Maintain recognition policies, guidelines, and procedures, recommending changes based on employee survey data, market trends and organization objectives.
- · Coordinate service anniversary award process, working with internal teams to ensure accurate data and timely delivery.
- · Partner with HR communications team to share updates as appropriate.
- · Maintain policies and procedures for area of responsibility and work with appropriate subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal requirements. Present modified and new policies to senior leadership for approval.
You’ll Bring These Skills:
- Compensation and Rewards Focus: Has a broad understanding of the role compensation and rewards play and how to use these tools to recognize performance. Effectively communicates the intent and objectives of World Vision US compensation practices.
· Compensation Market Practices: Understands employee and executive compensation concepts and marketplace practices. Stays abreast of trends and changes in compensation.
- Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis: Evaluates job descriptions and translates to appropriate match in various market surveys such as Mercer, Culpepper, WTW, Radford, etc. Interprets complex data sets, models range movement, merit increases and salary budgets, assessing impact of potential changes, and creating executive-level summary presentations.
- Facilitation and Advisory Skills: Effectively and purposefully guides individual and group meetings, providing advisory expertise to foster collaborative environment and achieve objectives.
Education and Experience:
- A bachelor's degree in business administration or related field, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of eight years of work experience in human resources with at least five years in compensation analysis and program management for a mid-sized organization
- Fluent in MS Office Suite with advanced expertise in Excel required
- Experience in Power BI a plus
- Experience with recognition programs helpful, though not required
Salary Range & Benefits:
- WVUS Pay Grade Level: 227
- Expected hiring range: $95,000 - $120,000
- The full salary range for this grade level is $90,187.62 - $145,905.62.
- This range applies to locations with a market similar to our headquarters office in the Greater Seattle Area. A different range may apply based on your work location.
