Job Description

Are you a passionate AI/ML expert ready to support the leading edge of scientific and healthcare advancements in the Federal Government today?

ECS is seeking talented and driven professionals to support the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H). In this role, you will serve as a scientific and technical advisor to ARPA-H—enabling the agency to manage and provide oversight to advanced R&D efforts; help shape future R&D concepts, programs, and solutions; integrate and advance our nation’s healthcare ecosystem processes, policies, and enabling technologies; and enable the agency to expand its healthcare and scientific scope into yet unknown areas. As a “systems engineering and technical assistance” advisor, you will provide support and thought leadership to R&D performer teams, Government Program Managers, and stakeholders across the health innovation ecosystem. This role supports the Resilience Systems Office (RSO).

What You Will Do

Serve as airborne disease modeling advisor and subject matter expert:

  • Advising and guiding program initiatives related to the integration, adoption, and institutionalization of AI/ML techniques, methods, and solutions for airborne disease detection and remediation initiatives.
  • Establish AI/ML solutions to enhance airborne disease classification and monitoring.
  • Support the integration of AI/ML methods to bio-surveillance solutions:
  • Enabling the development of biosensors for autonomous detection (e.g., microfluid-enabled diagnostics; nucleic acid or antigen detection).
  • Enabling the development of air quality index (AQI) software for autonomous risk assessments.
  • Stay current with scientific advancements:
  • Actively track and analyze new research findings in this field.
  • Identify and propose emerging methodologies and technologies that could enhance the program's progress.
  • Participate in scientific discussions and presentations, contributing your expertise to the program's overall knowledge base.

Collaborate Effectively Within a Diverse Team

  • Build strong relationships with computational scientists, engineers, and other scientific advisors involved in the program.
  • Communicate complex scientific concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
