Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant with experience in fund accounting and auditing. You will be the liaison with the Fund Accounting team and and external teams including external auditors, tax consultants.

The ideal candidate will have experience as an auditor or public accounting and managing complex financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary point of contact (POC) for coordination between the external Fund Administrator, external auditors, and internal teams (including Fund and Property Accounting)
Provide hands-on project management to ensure all deadlines are met, key deliverables are accurate, and all stakeholders are aligned throughout the year-end close and financial reporting season
Project management and daily reporting of KPIs related to the financial statement close process
Assist in coordinating and preparing for the annual audit, ensuring all deliverables are accurate and provided on time
Manage and oversee the year-end close process, working closely with Fund Accounting Manager and Controllers to ensure compliance and timely reporting
Identify and resolve accounting issues in collaboration with internal and external auditors
Track and manage delivery of audit support requests directly with fund auditors
Support the implementation of process improvements and ensure best practices are followed throughout the close and reporting process
As needed, support Fund tax consultants in the preparation of Fund tax returns, extension filings, investor K-1s, and related supporting files

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation preferred
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience, with a background in public accounting as an auditor, preferably with exposure to private equity or real estate funds
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work independently and collaboratively
Experience with accounting software (e.g., Yardi, NetSuite, or similar) is a plus
Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with various teams
