A Better Opportunity
Our Accounting and Finance team is hiring for a proactive and motivated Accounting Manager. This individual will enhance the accounting and control environment by analyzing and accounting for business changes with a financial statement impact or accounting policy impact. The focus of this position is Accounts Payable and Shared Service general accounting. This role offers a unique opportunity to be involved in Better’s internal and external financial reporting. An instrumental hire as the company continues to scale, this individual will be expected to take on more responsibility at a rapid pace.
ResponsibilitiesParticipate in month end closing by taking ownership of entire financial statement line items of the P&L, including flux analyses and budget to actual analysesCollaborate with US and India team members to provide useful and necessary financial informationCreate and review journal entries in the GL to support daily and month end activitiesPrepare and review account reconciliations Listen to, learn form, and partner with members of various departments to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial informationAid in integrations between our ERP and additional software tools to modernize and scale the businessEducate coworkers regarding financial practices, implications, and policiesProvide ad hoc analysis support to business leaders and key partnersDegree in accounting, business or finance4-6 years of experience in an accounting firm or departmentAt least 2 years of management experienceAdaptable to multiple and frequent changes in business environment Proven expertise with ExcelExperience with Netsuite preferred, but not requiredProven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, without losing attention to detailProactively review processes for improvement opportunities; never satisfied with the status quoExcellent verbal and written communication skillsCompany Benefits
